The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Chhattisgarh, has announced a crucial extension for NEET PG 2025 Round 1 candidates. Those who have been allotted seats in the first round now have an extended window to complete their physical reporting, document verification, and admission formalities at their respective colleges. This decision offers a significant relief to numerous postgraduate medical aspirants, especially considering recent scheduling changes at the national level. Aspirants must strictly adhere to the updated schedule to secure their MD/MS seats and avoid cancellation of their candidature. The revised dates and complete admission procedure details are available on the official DME website.

The journey for a postgraduate medical seat via the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) PG is often fraught with anxiety, particularly concerning tight counselling schedules. For aspirants targeting Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Master of Surgery (MS) seats under the Chhattisgarh State Quota for the 2025 session, the Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Raipur, has provided a significant breather. As per the latest official notification on the DME website (cgdme.in or cgdme.admissions.nic.in), candidates successfully allotted seats in the first round of NEET PG 2025 counselling have been granted an extension for completing their admission formalities.

This extension ensures that all deserving candidates get a fair opportunity to secure their allotted seats, aligning the state-level process with the ongoing dynamics of the All India Quota (AIQ) counselling. Medical aspirants are strongly advised to take note of the new dates to complete the crucial final step of their Round 1 admission process.

Key Revised Dates for Round 1 Admission Continuation

The original schedule for Round 1 activities has been revised, directly impacting the final dates for physical reporting and admission. For aspirants who received an allotment on December 10, 2025, the deadlines are now critical.

  • Round 1 Seat Allotment Result Publication: December 10, 2025.
  • Physical Scrutiny and Admission at Allotted Institute: December 11, 2025, to December 15, 2025.
  • Crucial Action Point: Candidates must physically present themselves at the allotted institution within this five-day window (December 11-15, 2025) to complete the document verification and fee submission. Failure to report by the extended deadline of December 15, 2025, will lead to the forfeiture of the seat and cancellation of candidature, making the candidate ineligible for that particular seat in subsequent rounds.

Mandatory Admission Steps After Seat Allotment

Securing an allotment is just the first step. The final admission process requires meticulous attention to detail to ensure a smooth transition into the postgraduate program. Candidates must follow a rigorous reporting process at the respective allotted medical college.

  • Download Allotment Letter: Candidates must first download the official seat allotment letter from the DME counselling portal (cgdme.admissions.nic.in). This letter is mandatory for the reporting process.
  • Document Verification (Scrutiny): The allotted institute will conduct a thorough physical verification of all original documents. Any discrepancy found during this scrutiny can lead to the cancellation of the allotment.
    • NEET PG 2025 Admit Card and Scorecard.
    • MBBS Degree and Mark Sheets (All Years).
    • Compulsory Rotatory Internship Completion Certificate.
    • Permanent/Provisional State Medical Council (SMC) or Medical Council of India (MCI)/National Medical Commission (NMC) Registration Certificate.
    • Proof of Domicile/Caste/EWS Certificate (as applicable).
    • ID Proof and recent passport-size photographs.
  • Fee Payment and Admission: Upon successful document verification, candidates must pay the requisite annual course fee as prescribed for the specific college and quota (Government Quota or Management Quota). Only after fee payment will the admission be considered final and an admission letter issued by the college.

Strategic Implications for Future Counselling Rounds

The outcome of Round 1 is strategically important as it determines the vacant seats for the subsequent Round 2. Aspirants need to understand their options clearly.

  • Freezing the Seat: If a candidate is fully satisfied with their Round 1 allotment (college and course), they must complete the admission process by December 15, 2025. By doing this, they freeze the seat and will not be eligible for any further rounds.
  • Opting for Upgradation: Candidates who accept the allotted seat but wish to be considered for a higher preference in Round 2 must report to the college and select the option for upgradation. They must still complete the admission and fee payment for the Round 1 seat, which will be automatically cancelled if a higher preference seat is allotted in Round 2.
  • Resignation/Non-Reporting: Candidates who do not report to the allotted institute or resign after the deadline may forfeit their security deposit and could be excluded from subsequent rounds, depending on the specific rules of the state and MCC. Therefore, making a clear, informed decision before the December 15 deadline is paramount.

Conclusion

The extension granted by the DME, Chhattisgarh, for the NEET PG 2025 Round 1 admission is a crucial final opportunity for successful candidates to convert their provisional allotment into a confirmed postgraduate medical seat. Given the tight schedule and the seriousness of the admission process, delay is simply not an option. Aspirants must approach the remaining formalities with utmost precision, ensuring all documents and fees are in order. Do not wait until the final day; check the official DME website today, download your allotment letter, and prepare for your physical reporting to secure your MD/MS or Diploma seat immediately.
