For thousands of aspiring lawyers, a crucial piece of information is on the brink of being released. The Bar Council of India (BCI) is anticipated to publish the AIBE 20 Notification today, September 6, 2025. This notification is the official guide for the All India Bar Examination (AIBE) and will contain a wealth of information vital for all candidates.

The BCI, which conducts the AIBE, is expected to provide definitive dates for the exam, along with a detailed registration schedule. While the exact dates are still under wraps, past trends suggest the exam could be conducted in December, with December 21, 2025, being a possibility. The AIBE 20 will be held in a traditional, pen-and-paper format, and there are no age restrictions to appear for the test. However, candidates must hold a Bachelor of Law (LLB) degree from a university or institution recognized by the BCI.
The AIBE is a qualifying exam for law graduates to enroll and practice law in India. The upcoming notification is also expected to outline the application process, which typically begins soon after the official announcement and remains open for one to two months. The application fee is set at ₹3,500 for General/OBC candidates and ₹2,500 for SC/ST candidates, excluding any additional charges.
The examination will test candidates on 19 different law subjects through 100 multiple-choice questions. The exam duration will be three and a half hours. As soon as the notification is released, candidates are advised to go through the document carefully for any changes in the syllabus, eligibility criteria, or exam pattern.
