Pondicherry University UG and NCET Select List I 2026-27 Released at admissions.pondiuni.edu.in; Check How to Confirm Admission

Pondicherry University (PU) has released the Provisional Rank List and Select List I for its Undergraduate (UG) and National Common Entrance Test (NCET) programs for the academic year 2026-27. The lists are available on the official admissions portal at admissions.pondiuni.edu.in. The notice was issued by the Deputy Registrar, Academic Section on July 27, 2026.

The rank list has been prepared using the Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate (CUET UG) 2026 scores. Select List I names the first set of candidates offered a provisional seat. The university has confirmed that the fee payment portal will open shortly for selected candidates.

Admissions under Select List I are provisional in nature. They remain subject to verification of original documents and fulfilment of eligibility rules set out in the prospectus. Candidates who fail to pay the fee within the announced deadline will lose their claim on the seat.

Programmes Covered Under UG and NCET Admissions

Admission to on-campus UG programs at Pondicherry University is done through CUET UG 2026 scores. The NCET route is used for admission to the four-year Integrated Teacher Education Program (ITEP).

• Regular undergraduate programs offered by the School of Studies on the Kalapet campus.
• Four-year Integrated BA-B.Ed under ITEP through NCET 2026.
• Four-year Integrated BSc-B.Ed under ITEP through NCET 2026.

How to Check the Provisional Rank List and Select List I?

Candidates can view their name and rank in a few simple steps. The list is hosted on the merit-selected section of the admissions portal.

1. Visit the official portal at admissions.pondiuni.edu.in/merit-selected.
2. Click on the link for UG or NCET Provisional Rank List and Select List I.
3. Select the specific program for which you have applied.
4. Search for your CUET UG application number or your name in the list.
5. Download the list and save a copy for future reference.

How to Confirm Admission and Pay the Fee?

Fee payment is the only way to lock the provisional seat offered under Select List I. The payment portal will go live on admissions.pondiuni.edu.in shortly.

1. Log in to the admissions portal using your registered credentials.
2. Open the seat allotment or fee payment section for Select List I.
3. Upload the required documents as prompted by the portal.
4. Pay the course fee online within the deadline announced by the university.
5. Download the fee payment receipt for verification at the time of reporting.

Provisionally admitted candidates must then report in person to the respective Dean, Head of Department, or Centre Head. Reporting must be done as per the schedule shared by the university. Missing the reporting date can also lead to cancellation of the seat.

Documents Required at the Time of Reporting

Candidates should keep original certificates ready along with two sets of self-attested photocopies. The list below covers the standard set of documents.

• CUET UG 2026 scorecard and application confirmation page.
• Class 10 and Class 12 marksheets and passing certificates.
• Transfer Certificate and Conduct Certificate from the last institution.
• Community, Category, PwD or EWS certificate, wherever applicable.
• Aadhaar card and recent passport-size photographs.
• Proof of fee payment made through the admissions portal.

Why This Matters

Select List I is the first cut-off round for CUET UG based seats at PU. Missing the fee deadline removes a candidate from consideration for the sliding rounds too. Acting on time keeps the seat live for later upgrades within the same program.

Action Plan for Candidates

1. Open admissions.pondiuni.edu.in/merit-selected and check your status.
2. Verify your program, category, and rank against the Select List I.
3. Keep scanned copies of all original documents ready for upload.
4. Arrange the course fee amount in a bank account with online payment enabled.
5. Pay the fee as soon as the payment portal opens on the admissions website.
6. Report to the respective Dean or Head of Department on the given date.

Keep an Eye On
