Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana, has updated the deadlines for admissions to its undergraduate and postgraduate courses for the academic year 2026-27. According to the revised schedule, applicants can apply without paying any late fees until May 22, 2026. Those who miss this deadline can still apply after that, but they will have to pay a late fee of INR 1,000 until May 29, 2026. Right now, PAU offers several undergraduate programs, like Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, Horticulture, Biotechnology, and Food Technology, as well as various postgraduate programmes in agriculture and related fields. Also, PAU has changed the dates for entrance exams. The Design Aptitude Test (DAT) for design programmes will be on June 7, 2026. The Agriculture Aptitude Test (AAT) for agriculture programmes will take place on June 28, 2026, and the AAT counselling will be held on July 8, 2026. Undergraduate Programmes Offered
Several undergraduate programmes are available at PAU, including B.Sc. Agriculture, B.Sc. Horticulture, B.Sc. Biotechnology, B.Sc. Food Technology, B.Sc. Home Science, and B.Tech. Agricultural Engineering. Each programme has different eligibility criteria and entrance examination requirements. Most B.Sc. programmes require students to have completed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. For the B.Tech. programme, students need to have good scores in JEE Main. Admission to both B.Sc. and B.Tech. programmes is generally based on merit and results from entrance exams conducted by PAU.
Postgraduate Programme Offered
PAU also offers postgraduate programmes such as M.Sc. Agronomy, M.Sc. Plant Breeding, M.Sc. Plant Pathology, M.Sc. Entomology, M.Sc. Soil Science, and M.Sc. Agricultural Economics. In addition, there are M.Tech. programmes in agricultural engineering. To be eligible for postgraduate courses, students must have completed their graduation in the relevant subject. For the M.Tech. programmes, candidates are required to qualify in the GATE examination.

- They need to register on the site by providing their email ID and mobile number.
- They must upload their mark sheets for classes 10 and 12 and select their preferred programme.
- Applications must be submitted before May 22, 2026, without any late fees.
- However, candidates can also apply until May 29, 2026, but they will have to pay a late fee of INR 1,000.
Eligibility Criteria
For undergraduate courses, applicants must have completed Class 12 with physics, chemistry, and either biology or mathematics from a recognised board. Candidates from the general category need to have a minimum of 50% in their overall score, while SC/ST candidates need a minimum of 45%. For postgraduate courses, applicants should have a bachelor's degree in the relevant field with a minimum of 50% aggregate. In the case of M.Tech admissions, a qualifying score in the GATE exam is required.
Entrance Examination Details
The DAT (Design Aptitude Test) for design courses will be held on June 7, 2026, and the AAT (Agriculture Aptitude Test) for agriculture courses will be on June 28, 2026. The entrance exam will be objective in nature and consist of multiple-choice questions. Applicants can download their admit cards from the official website seven days before the exam.
