Odisha SAMS PG Final Merit List 2026 Out at pg.samsodisha.gov.in; Check How to Lock Choices

The Students Academic Management System (SAMS) Odisha has released the final merit list for postgraduate admissions, and it's now live on the portal. If you sat for the Common Postgraduate Entrance Test (CPET) 2026, you can check where you stand at pg.samsodisha.gov.in.

Choice locking opened for eligible candidates on July 27, 2026, at 3 pm. That means students can now log in and start picking the colleges and subjects they'd prefer for the upcoming session.

The subject-wise, state-wide merit list itself went live a few days earlier, on July 24, 2026. It includes everyone who cleared CPET 2026, and admission through this list leads into two-year PG courses across Odisha.

This year's cycle is a big one — more than 114 government and government-aided institutions are participating, offering seats across over 50 postgraduate subjects for the 2026-27 session.

Who Can Fill Choices?

Only candidates whose names show up in the CPET 2026 final merit list can move ahead to choice filling. SAMS Odisha has put this list together subject-wise and state-wise, so it's worth checking carefully rather than assuming your status.

The list also reflects reservation and category rank, so make sure you know exactly where you stand before you start locking in choices.

How to Check the Odisha CPET 2026 Merit List

1. Head to the official portal at pg.samsodisha.gov.in.
2. Click on the CPET 2026 Final Merit List link on the home page.
3. Pick your subject from the drop-down menu.
4. Look up your name, roll number, and rank on the list.
5. Download or print a copy for your records.

How to Lock Choices on the SAMS Portal

This part of the process is entirely online — there's no physical reporting or in-person counselling venue involved at this stage.

1. Log in to pg.samsodisha.gov.in using your CPET credentials.
2. Open the Choice Filling and Locking dashboard on your applicant panel.
3. Add colleges and subjects in the order you actually want them.
4. Go through each choice carefully before hitting submit.
5. Submit and lock your choices before the portal deadline shuts.

Why This Matters

CPET is essentially the only route into PG seats at Odisha's state universities, and this cycle spans more than 114 institutions and 50 subjects. Once a choice is locked, there's no editing it afterward — so the order you pick really does matter.

Action Plan for Candidates

1. Go through the CPET 2026 final merit list and check your name carefully.
2. Note down your rank, subject, and reservation category details.
3. Log in to pg.samsodisha.gov.in with your CPET application credentials.
4. Look at university-wise and subject-wise seat intake before deciding your order.
5. Fill and lock your choices well ahead of the deadline.
