NTA Releases JEE Main 2026 Session 2 City Intimation Slip; Engineering Aspirants Prepare for April Exam
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially released the Advance City Intimation Slip for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026 Session 2. This announcement is a vital update for nearly 12.5 lakh engineering aspirants who have registered for the April session. As of today, March 16, 2026, candidates can log in to the official portal at jeemain.nta.nic.in to check the city where their examination center will be located.

The city intimation slip is a precursor to the actual admit card and is designed to help students, especially those in rural or distant areas, make necessary travel and lodging arrangements in advance. It contains the candidate's name, application number, and the specific city and state of the exam center, though it does not mention the exact venue address.
How to Download the JEE Main Session 2 City Slip
To access the slip, students should follow these steps:
- Visit the official NTA JEE website: jeemain.nta.nic.in.
- Click on the link titled "Advance City Intimation for JEE (Main) 2026 Session 2."
- Enter your Application Number and Date of Birth.
- Enter the Security Pin (Captcha) as displayed on the screen.
- Download and print the slip for your reference.
If a candidate faces difficulty in downloading the slip or notices a discrepancy in the city choice, they should contact the NTA Help Desk immediately at 011-40759000 or email jeemain@nta.ac.in. For regular updates on the admission cycle, follow Only Education News.
Important Dates for Session 2 Aspirants
While the city intimation slip is live today, the Admit Cards are expected to be released three days before the actual commencement of the exam. The NTA has scheduled the JEE Main Session 2 to be held between April 1 and April 15, 2026.
The examination will be conducted in two shifts daily:
- Morning Shift: 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
- Afternoon Shift: 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM
The April session is particularly crucial because the NTA will consider the best of the two scores (January and April) for the final All India Rank (AIR). Furthermore, only the top 2.5 lakh qualifiers from this pool will be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced 2026, the gateway to the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
Shift Towards Final Revision
With the exam city now known, high school and UG students should enter their final "combat mode" for preparation. Experts suggest focusing on high-weightage topics that frequently appear in the NTA question bank. In Mathematics, topics like Vectors, 3D Geometry, and Integration are essential. In Physics, Modern Physics and Mechanics should be prioritized, while Organic Chemistry remains a scoring area if the basics are clear.
Students are advised to practice at least one full-length mock test daily during the same time slot as their allotted shift (either morning or afternoon) to synchronize their biological clock with the exam environment.
