BTech in Mathematics and Computing

The new BTech in Mathematics and Computing programme will be offered by the Department of Mathematics.
The course will cover subjects such as machine learning, artificial intelligence, cryptography, statistics, and computing. The first group of students admitted to this programme will be 25 students who apply through JEE Main. This course is suitable for students who want to study mathematics and computation in depth.

BTech in Engineering Physics

The BTech in Engineering Physics will be introduced by the Department of Physics and Astronomy. The programme will include topics like semiconductors, quantum physics, photonics, nanotechnology, and space technology. Students can apply for this programme based on their JEE Main scores and will join a class of 25 students. This course is ideal for those interested in fields like quantum computing, material engineering, and space technology.

Semiconductor Devices & Technology (MTech)

To meet the increasing demand for skilled professionals in India’s semiconductor sector, NIT Rourkela has launched the MTech in Semiconductor Devices and Technology. The program will cover essential subjects such as semiconductor fabrication, wafer technology, device characterisation, and packaging technologies. The first batch of this course will have 15 students selected based on performance in the GATE entrance exam. This course is particularly important for India’s goal of becoming a self-reliant nation.

Machine Learning and Signal Analysis (MTech)

NIT Rourkela’s Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering is introducing the MTech in Machine Learning and Signal Analysis. Key areas covered in this program will include machine learning, deep learning, image and speech processing, autonomous systems, and biomedical signal analysis. For the initial batch, 12 students will be selected through the GATE entrance exam. This course aims to build the skills needed in fields such as artificial intelligence, robotics, healthcare technology, and autonomous systems.

Eligibility and Admission Criteria

To apply for BTech programs, students need to have passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Admission is based on the JEE Main scores. For MTech programs, candidates must hold a BTech degree in a relevant field. Admission is conducted based on GATE scores.
