NIT Jalandhar Opens M.Tech 2026 Admissions for 200 Self-Sponsored Seats
For the academic year 2026-2027, NIT Jalandhar is accepting applications for full-time M.Tech programs starting from July 2026.
For the academic year 2026-2027, NIT Jalandhar is accepting applications for full-time M.Tech programs starting from July 2026. A total of 200 seats are available across 18 different engineering branches, including artificial intelligence, computer science & engineering, VLSI design, data science & engineering, and mechanical systems engineering. Students interested in joining NIT Jalandhar can fill in their application forms online through the official website ([www.nitj.ac.in](http://www.nitj.ac.in)). The last date to apply is May 20, 2026, up to 4:00 PM.
The selection process consists of two stages.
- If a student qualifies through GATE, they will not need to take an entrance test. Selection will be based on the GATE score merit, with preferences given according to their ranking.
- Students who do not have a qualifying GATE score must take an entrance test, scheduled for May 21, 2026, at 10:00 AM, conducted offline.
Physical counseling and seat allocation will commence on May 21, 2026, at 3:00 PM.

Eligibility, Procedure and Fees
Eligible candidates for the M.Tech self-sponsored full-time programs must have completed a four-year bachelor's degree in engineering/generations. Candidates should also satisfy the eligibility requirements of having the required minimum marks in line with the GATE norms. The final-year candidates are also eligible to use it on the condition that each of their exams has been completed with the help of 15 August 2026 and the certificate of certification is available by 30 September 2026. Application Fee: INR 1,000 for general applicants and INR 500 for SC / ST / PWD applicants. The specialization Artificial Intelligence gives 30 seats, observed by the specialization Computer Science & Engineering with 20 seats, followed by the VLSI Design specialization with 18 seats. It can be a hurdle for the OBC-NCL, SC, ST, and EWS categories as per the norms of the Government of India.
Candidates must complete a specific utility form for each specialization. The category selected while completing the software form is final and cannot be changed afterwards. The tuition fee for the M.Tech Self-Sponsored Program is INR 77,000 for full-time students and INR 85,500 for boarders. The cleaning fee is exclusive of the training fee and will be reported separately. Applicants are expected to offer their degree certificates in authentic form at some point in the report checking process before paying the price. Candidates holding vacancies will submit an NOC from their institution at the same time as submitting their application.
When the candidates have paid the expenses and registered in the first balls, which will be between 2 May 2026 and 28 May 2026, applicants will be allotted their roll diversity, e-mail ID, net ID, and NITJ ERP ID. If any unallocated seats are available, the next rounds could be scheduled for 29 May 2026 and 11 June 2026. The candidates are allowed to surrender their seats and get a complete refund of the price minus INR 5,000 by 9 June 2026.
