NIT Agartala MBA 2026 Admission Deadline Extended

The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Agartala has announced an extension of the MBA admission 2026-27 application deadline via a corrigendum dated April 17, 2026.

The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Agartala has announced an extension of the MBA admission 2026-27 application deadline via a corrigendum dated April 17, 2026. The online application submission deadline has now been extended to May 11, 2026, while the submission of the hard copy of the application must be completed by May 21, 2026. The date for the Institute Level Test (ILT) has also been postponed from its original date to June 12, 2026.

This revised schedule for the admission process into the two-year MBA program at NIT Agartala aims to provide sufficient time for all eligible candidates. The extension allows applicants to gather and submit all required documents in a timely manner and also offers enough time to prepare for the ILT. The notice from NIT Agartala emphasizes that the final decision regarding the ILT and the subsequent selection process will remain unchanged. 

MBA at NIT Agartala: Eligibility Criteria 2026-27

To be eligible for the MBA course at NIT Agartala, applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in any field from a recognized university. They also need to have a valid score in one of the entrance exams like CAT, GMAT, MAT, or CMAT. Additionally, candidates must have scored at least 50% in their bachelor’s degree. For SC/ST candidates, the minimum percentage required is 45%. There is no requirement for prior work experience. 

The MBA program at NIT Agartala is for people who want to get advanced management education and have good career opportunities in different industries. The program focuses on practical learning through case studies, project work, and internships. Students from various backgrounds, including engineering, commerce, science, and arts, can apply for this program. Admission is based on merit, taking into account the marks from the last academic year, scores from the entrance exam, and performance in group discussions and personal interviews. 

Steps to Apply for MBA in NIT Agartala 2026-27

1. Open your web browser and visit the NIT Agartala admission website at admission.nita.ac.in.
2. On the homepage, find and click on the link for MBA Admission 2026-27.
3. Create a new registration account by entering your email address and setting up a password.
4. Log in to your newly created account.
5. Enter your personal information such as your full name, date of birth, and phone number.
6. Share your educational qualifications and the scores you got in exams like CAT, GMAT, MAT, or CMAT.
7. Upload the required documents such as your photo, signature, and copies of your educational certificates.
8. Check all the details you have entered to make sure they are correct.
9. Submit your application form online before the deadline, which is May 11, 2026. 
10.  After submitting, download and save a copy of the application confirmation page for future reference. 

Hard Copy Application Procedure

If you're applying through hard copies, your application must reach NIT Agartala by May 21, 2026, in the format mentioned earlier. This should include all the required documents. The hard copy should have a printed version of your application, photocopies of your educational certificates, entrance test scorecard, and any other necessary documents. Please send it to "NIT Agartala, Admissions Office, Tripura, India." It's a good idea to use postal tracking to make sure your documents arrive safely. The postmark on the envelope should be on or before May 21, 2026.

Students applying by hard copy should organize their documents properly inside the envelope. Make sure the envelope has a label stating "MBA Admission 2026-27" clearly visible on the front. NIT Agartala will not be responsible for any lost applications, so using registered post with tracking is recommended. 

Institute Level Test (ILT) & Selection Process

The Institute Level Test (ILT) is scheduled to be held on 12th June, 2026, to assess the candidates' suitability for management studies. This test will be conducted in a computer-based format at NIT Agartala. Candidates who clear the ILT will be invited for Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI), which will take place from 13th to 15th June, 2026.

The selection process aims to identify individuals who possess strong analytical and communication skills, as well as good leadership potential. The GD round will evaluate the candidates' ability to articulate their thoughts and participate effectively in discussions. The personal interview will focus on understanding their motivation and career goals. Ultimately, a merit list will be prepared based on the overall performance in all stages. Selected candidates will be informed by June 2026.
