Why Was the August 20 Deadline Extended?
The Medical Counselling Committee recently revised the NEET UG 2026 All India Quota counselling schedule. Following the change, Tamil Nadu adjusted its state counselling timeline to provide candidates with additional time to complete their state counselling choices. Many candidates participate in both All India Quota and state counselling. Aligning the schedules helps candidates make informed choices and reduces the possibility of overlapping counselling activities.
