The wait is over for lakhs of NEET UG aspirants. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has published the round 1 seat allotment result for NEET UG 2026 counselling on its official website, mcc.nic.in. If you registered, filled your choices, and locked them in time, your result is now just a login away.

Where and How to Check Your Result

Candidates who registered for counselling and locked their preferences can log in with their application number and password to view their seat allotment status. Here's the step-by-step:

  • Visit the official MCC website, mcc.nic.in
  • Look for the "NEET UG 2026 round 1 seat allotment result" link under the Candidate Activity Board section
  • Enter your NEET UG counselling login credentials, including your application number and password
  • Submit the details
  • Your result will display on screen — download and save it for later

What's Actually Up for Grabs in Round 1

This round isn't for every MBBS or BDS seat in the country — it covers a specific slice. Round 1 counselling handles the 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats, plus 100% of seats in deemed universities, central universities, AFMC, AIIMS, and JIPMER, for MBBS, BDS, and BSc Nursing admissions.

Reservation for AIQ seats follows the standard category breakdown:

  • SC: 15%
  • ST: 7.5%
  • OBC-NCL: 27%
  • GEN-EWS: 10%

The Road to This Result — A Quick Recap

It's been a packed couple of weeks. Institutes verified the tentative seat matrix starting August 4. Registration and fee payment ran from August 5 to 15, while choice filling stayed open from August 6 through August 18 — with MCC actually extending the choice-locking deadline to 11:59 PM on August 18 to give candidates a bit more breathing room. Seat allotment processing itself happened on August 18, setting the stage for today's result.

What Happens Next: Reporting Window

Getting the result is just step one. Candidates who've been allotted a seat need to report to their respective institutes between August 20 and 25, 2026. Miss this window, and you risk losing the allotted seat altogether — so don't sit on this.

Once you've decided to accept your seat, download the allotment letter using your roll number, date of birth, and security pin. Hang onto this — you'll need it through document verification and the rest of the admission process at your allotted college.

Total Rounds This Year

NEET UG 2026 counselling will run across three rounds this year, plus a stray vacancy round if seats are still lying vacant after that. Every round of allotment factors in your NEET marks, seat availability, the choices you've submitted, and other standard counselling parameters — so where you land isn't just about your rank, it's also about how smartly you ordered your preferences.

A Quick Look at State Counselling Too

While MCC handles the central quota, several states are running their own NEET counselling in parallel:

  • Chhattisgarh: Round 1 merit list came out August 18, with seat allotment following on August 19 and results on August 20. Reporting runs August 21–27.
  • Bihar: Round 1 seat allotment result is expected August 20, with admissions scheduled for August 24–27.
  • Karnataka: The state's mock seat allotment result for MBBS and BDS was released August 17, giving candidates a preview before the real round.

If you're also registered under a state quota, it's worth tracking both processes closely — the timelines don't always align.

Bottom Line for Candidates

If your name shows up in the round 1 allotment list, don't delay — head straight to your allotted institute within the reporting window and get your documents in order. If you didn't get a seat this round, don't panic: with three rounds plus a stray vacancy round still ahead, there's a real shot at a seat in the rounds to come.

Keep checking mcc.nic.in regularly, since counselling dates this year have already shifted more than once.
