The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is set to commence the registration process for NEET UG 2025 Round 3 Counselling on its official website, mcc.nic.in.
This is one of the final opportunities to participate in the central admission process for prestigious institutions like AIIMS, JIPMER, DU, BHU, AMU, and various Central and Deemed Universities.

Final Deadline for NRI Status Conversion
A critical deadline concludes today: the window for candidates seeking conversion from Indian to NRI (Non-Resident Indian) status for the Round 3 counselling ends. Aspiring students and OCI candidates must have submitted all mandatory documents via email to the MCC by 4:00 PM on September 29, 2025. Any submissions received after this deadline will not be considered for NRI quota eligibility in this round.
State Counselling Alert: Maharashtra Round 2 Reporting Ends Today
In related state-level news, students who have been allotted seats in the Maharashtra NEET UG CAP Round 2 for MBBS and BDS admissions must complete their physical reporting and admission process today. The reporting deadline for selected candidates at their respective institutions is 5:30 PM on September 29, 2025. Failure to report with all original documents and pay the requisite fees by the deadline will lead to the cancellation of the allotted seat.
National Focus on Expanding Medical Seats
In a separate, positive long-term development for the medical education sector, the Union Cabinet recently approved a significant Centrally Sponsored Scheme to create over 10,000 new medical seats (both UG and PG) across existing government medical colleges and hospitals by 2028-29. This strategic investment is aimed at addressing the doctor-to-population ratio, particularly in underserved regions, and ensuring a steady supply of specialists.
This massive expansion plan, combined with regulatory reforms by the NMC to allow experienced government specialists to become faculty, is set to substantially increase opportunities for future medical aspirants across India.
Aspirants are advised to immediately visit the MCC and Maha CET Cell websites for detailed instructions, updated seat matrices, and to complete their registration or reporting process today without delay. For regular updates follow Only Education News.
