The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has announced the revised schedule for the NEET UG 2025 counselling, providing a clear roadmap for thousands of aspiring medical students. The much-anticipated Round 2 registration has commenced today, September 4, 2025, and will remain open until September 9, 2025. This is a crucial window for candidates to register, fill in their preferred courses and colleges, and lock their choices.

The revised timeline aims to streamline the seat allotment process for MBBS and BDS programs across various government and private institutions. Candidates who participated in Round 1 but did not secure a seat, or those who wish to upgrade, can participate in this round. It is vital for all eligible aspirants to complete the registration and choice-filling process within the given deadlines to avoid missing out on a seat.

Important Dates for NEET UG Round 2

  • Registration Period: September 4 to September 9, 2025
  • Choice Filling and Locking: September 5 to September 9, 2025 (Choice locking will be available from 4:00 PM to 11:55 PM on September 9)
  • Seat Allotment Result: September 12, 2025
  • Reporting to Allotted Institutes: September 13 to September 19, 2025

It is strongly advised for candidates to double-check their choices before the final locking. Once choices are locked, they cannot be modified. Students should also have all necessary documents, including their NEET UG 2025 admit card, scorecard, and academic certificates, ready for the reporting phase.

NEET PG 2025 Counselling: Registrations to Begin Shortly

For postgraduate aspirants, the NEET PG 2025 counselling process is also set to begin. The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has already released the NEET PG 2025 results on August 19, 2025, with individual scorecards becoming available for download on or after August 29. The All India 50% Quota scorecards are expected to be available from September 5, 2025, which will likely mark the commencement of the counselling registration.

While the exact schedule for NEET PG counselling is still awaited from the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), it is highly anticipated to begin this week. Aspiring PG students should regularly check the official MCC website for the latest notifications. The counselling process will be conducted in multiple rounds, including Round 1, Round 2, Mop-Up, and Stray Vacancy rounds, for admissions to MD, MS, and other postgraduate medical and dental courses.

Key Takeaways for PG Aspirants

  • Scorecard Availability: Download your All India 50% Quota scorecard from natboard.edu.in on or after September 5, 2025.
  • Counselling Start: The counselling process is expected to begin shortly after the scorecards are released.
  • Stay Prepared: Keep all academic documents, NEET PG 2025 scorecard, and other essential certificates prepared for the online registration and choice-filling process.

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) manages the counselling for 50% of the All India Quota (AIQ) seats, along with 100% of seats in deemed and central universities. The remaining 50% of seats will be filled by the respective state counselling authorities. Aspirants must stay proactive and ensure they meet all deadlines to secure a seat.
