The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has published a revised seat matrix for the NEET PG 2025 Round-3 today, January 29, 2026. This update includes the addition of 292 new postgraduate seats across various medical colleges in India .At the same time, 14 seats have been withdrawn due to court orders and institutional updates. This final revision ensures that the allotment process accounts for all available vacancies, including thousands of clear and virtual vacancies from previous rounds.

The Matrix was updated just before the processing of the third round to maximize the chances for candidates after the recent cutoff reduction.

  • Newly Added Seats: States like Gujarat and Chhattisgarh have seen a boost in their All India Quota slots.
  • Clear vs. Virtual Vacancies: There are currently over 10,000 clear vacancies available in the Matrix.
  • Withdrawn Seats: Some MD General Medicine and Radio-diagnosis seats were removed following directions from the Armed Forces Tribunal and the Official MCC Portal.

Significance for Round-3 Applicants

The revised Matrix allows for a more accurate allotment for those who participated in the choice-filling window that closed on January 26.

  • Increased Opportunities: The addition of seats in high-demand branches gives aspirants another chance to secure their preferred college.
  • Institutional Updates: Several institutes requested the addition of seats as late as January 22, causing a ripple effect in the Matrix on the Intra-MCC Portal.
  • Final Allotment: These changes are directly reflected in the allotment results released today.

Conclusion

Understanding the revised Matrix is essential for candidates to verify the transparency of the seat allocation process. For a detailed breakdown of the available slots, students should consult the latest PDF on the Medical Counselling Committee Website.
