The Supreme Court will hear a crucial plea on September 23 for more transparency in the NEET PG 2025 exam, directly impacting the upcoming MCC counselling schedule. Aspirants should prepare for an imminent release of the schedule for AIQ, deemed, and DNB seats.

The highly anticipated NEET PG 2025 counselling process remains in a state of limbo, with thousands of postgraduate medical aspirants awaiting the official schedule from the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). All eyes are now on the Supreme Court, which is set to hear a crucial plea regarding transparency in the NEET PG 2025 examination on September 23. This hearing is expected to directly influence the release of the counselling schedule, as the MCC will likely wait for a directive from the court before moving forward.

The petition, which has been listed at the top of the court's board, seeks a more transparent process from the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS). Aspirants and doctors' associations have raised concerns over the NBEMS's decision to release only question IDs instead of full questions and the corresponding answer keys. This partial disclosure, petitioners argue, makes it nearly impossible for candidates to verify their responses and has allegedly led to score discrepancies. The Supreme Court will also address a separate plea on transgender reservations in NEET PG admissions on the same day.

The Impending MCC AIQ Schedule

Despite the ongoing legal matter, the MCC has indicated that the schedule for NEET PG 2025 counselling will be announced soon. This process is expected to commence in the last week of September, following the Supreme Court's verdict. The counselling will be conducted for a wide range of seats, including:

  • 50% All India Quota (AIQ) seats in government medical colleges across the country.
  • 100% seats of all Deemed and Central Universities.
  • 100% All India open DNB seats (Diplomate of National Board).

Aspirants are advised to use this waiting period productively by preparing all necessary documents, including their NEET PG 2025 scorecard, marksheets, and registration certificates, to avoid any last-minute rush.

Why Aspirants Must Stay Vigilant

With a favourable court decision on transparency and the subsequent release of the MCC schedule, the counselling process is expected to move quickly. The first round of registrations, choice filling, and seat allotments will likely follow a compressed timeline. The stakes are particularly high for these seats, as they are not subject to state-specific domicile rules. Aspirants should regularly check the official MCC website for the latest notifications and not rely on unofficial sources.
