The NEET PG Counselling 2024 process is officially underway, with significant updates emerging today. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has commenced the registration for Round 1, which began on September 20, 2024, and will close on September 26, 2024.

Candidates who have qualified in the NEET PG exam must complete their registration on the MCC portal at mcc.nic.in to participate in this crucial counselling phase. As part of the counselling process, candidates will be able to fill their choices for preferred colleges and courses starting from September 23, 2024, until September 26, 2024. This is a critical period where candidates must carefully consider their options based on their NEET PG scores and the availability of seats. The MCC will announce the results of Round 1 seat allotment on September 30, 2024.In addition to these developments, a Supreme Court hearing is scheduled for today regarding various aspects of the counselling process.

This hearing may address concerns related to the eligibility criteria and other procedural matters affecting candidates. To be eligible for NEET PG counselling, candidates must meet the minimum qualifying percentile set by the MCC. For general candidates, this is the 50th percentile, while SC/ST/OBC candidates must achieve at least the 40th percentile. It is essential for candidates to have completed their MBBS degree and one year of internship by August 15, 2024, to qualify for counselling.Candidates are advised to keep all necessary documents ready for verification during the counselling process.

This includes their NEET PG scorecard, identity proof, and any relevant certificates needed for category reservations. With the registration deadline approaching and choice filling about to begin, candidates are encouraged to act promptly to secure their preferred courses and institutions in this competitive landscape. The NEET PG counselling process is vital for those looking to pursue postgraduate medical studies in India, as it determines admission into MD, MS, and DNB programs across various medical colleges.
