The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has successfully concluded all candidate activities for the NEET PG 2025 Round 2 Counselling. The final window for Choice Locking, which was extended multiple times due to the incorporation of newly approved seats, officially closed on December 14, 2025. The processing of seat allotment is currently underway.

Aspirants for the 50% All India Quota (AIQ) seats in MD, MS, and PG Diploma courses can expect the Round 2 Seat Allotment Result to be published today, December 16, 2025, on the official MCC website (mcc.nic.in).

The Final Seat Count for Round 2

The key highlight of the second round was the significant expansion of the seat matrix. The MCC has confirmed that the final list of seats for allotment processing included:

  • Total Seats: Over 32,000 seats were available for choice filling in Round 2.
  • New Additions: This total comprised approximately 2,620 newly added seats and other seats that were either vacant from Round 1 or became virtually vacant due to candidates opting for an upgrade.

This substantial increase in the available seat pool is anticipated to offer greater opportunities, especially in high-demand specialties, and may lead to a slight drop in the closing ranks compared to Round 1.

Upcoming Crucial Dates

The schedule for the next week is extremely tight, and candidates must be prepared for immediate action once the result is published:

Mandatory Steps After the Result Announcement

All candidates, especially those seeking admission, must follow these steps immediately upon checking the result:

  1. Download Allotment Letter: Log in to the MCC portal and download the Provisional Seat Allotment Letter.
  2. Confirm Choice: Candidates who are allotted a seat must decide whether to Accept and Freeze (final admission) or Accept with Upgradation (participate in Round 3 for a better choice).
  3. Physical Reporting: Regardless of the choice made, physical reporting to the Round 2 allotted institute is mandatory between December 17 and 25, 2025, with all original documents and the required fees. Failure to report will lead to forfeiture of the seat and exclusion from subsequent rounds.

Aspirants are advised to keep all original documents, including the NEET PG Scorecard, MBBS Degree, and Internship Completion Certificate, ready for the document verification process. For regular updates on the result release and the reporting schedule, follow Only Education News.
