The NEET Counselling Seat Allotment Result 2026 has been revised, with the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) releasing the updated Round 1 result on August 21, 2026, at mcc.nic.in. As per the official notice, 29,945 seats have been allotted through the revised provisional Round 1 result. MCC has confirmed that the total number of allotted seats remains unchanged despite the revision — only individual candidate data was corrected.

The NEET UG Counselling 2026 final Round 1 result is expected soon, once MCC reviews all grievances filed against the revised provisional list. Reports based on the provisional data suggest AIIMS New Delhi and JIPMER remain among the most sought-after institutes in this round, alongside top state government medical colleges. Candidates allotted a seat must report to their respective institutes for admission by August 31, 2026.

Why Was the Result Revised?

According to the official notice, the provisional result was revised due to an error in the uploading of the PwD certificate by the Primary Assessment Centre. This round covers candidates who participated in Round 1 counselling for MBBS, BDS, and B.Sc Nursing admissions under the 15% All India Quota (AIQ), AIIMS, JIPMER, and Central and Deemed Universities.

Candidates who spot any error or discrepancy in the revised result must report it immediately through the Candidate Grievances and Query Redressal System on their login portal. The last date to submit grievances is 8:00 AM on August 22, 2026.

MCC has also clarified that the revised provisional result is indicative in nature and remains subject to change until the final result is declared. No candidate acquires a confirmed right to an allotted seat based on the provisional list, and it cannot be contested before a court of law — candidates are advised to approach their allotted college only after the final result is announced.

NEET UG Counselling 2026 Round 1 Final Result

MCC will release the final seat allotment list only after reviewing the objections raised against the revised provisional result. Once declared, the final result PDF will be available for download on mcc.nic.in. Candidates are strongly advised to report to their allotted institute only after the final result is declared, not on the basis of the provisional list.

How to Check the NEET Counselling Seat Allotment Result 2026

  1. Go to the official website, mcc.nic.in.
  2. Click on UG Medical Counselling.
  3. Open the Round 1 Seat Allotment Result 2026 link.
  4. Search your roll number in the PDF, or log in to download your NEET allotment letter.
  5. Save and print the allotment letter for institute reporting.

What Details Does the Result Contain?

The MCC Round 1 result includes the following information for each allotted candidate:

  • Candidate name
  • NEET roll number
  • All India Rank
  • Allotted college
  • Medical/dental institute name
  • Course — MBBS/BDS/B.Sc Nursing
  • Category and quota
  • Reporting status
  • Joining instructions

Documents Required for College Reporting

Candidates reporting to their allotted institute must carry the following documents, along with original copies for verification:

  • MCC NEET 2026 seat allotment letter
  • NEET UG 2026 scorecard
  • NEET UG admit card
  • Class 10 certificate
  • Class 12 marksheet and certificate
  • Valid photo ID proof
  • Passport-size photographs
  • Category certificate, if applicable
  • PwD certificate, if applicable

Freeze or Float: What Happens After You Accept a Seat?

Once the NEET UG Round 1 allotment is out, candidates get two options besides simply declining the seat:

  • Freeze: Candidates who want to lock in their current seat and not participate further must physically report to the allotted institute with original documents to complete verification and admission.
  • Float: Candidates hoping for a better seat in the next round can submit their willingness to upgrade online, without physically reporting to the currently allotted college. If a better seat is allotted in Round 2, the earlier one is released back into the counselling pool.

All candidates — whether choosing Freeze or Float — must also submit scanned copies of their documents online through the MCC portal by logging into their account. Candidates who wish to withdraw from counselling altogether can also do so through MCC's online resignation facility.

Participating Institutes and Reservation Policy

NEET UG Round 1 counselling covers 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats in state government medical colleges, along with 100% seats at AIIMS, JIPMER, Central Universities (such as BHU, AMU, and Delhi University-affiliated colleges), ESIC institutes, and Deemed Universities. A total of 20 AIIMS institutions across the country participate in this counselling.

The category-wise reservation followed under AIQ and central institute seats is:

CategoryReservation
SC15%
ST7.5%
OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)27%
EWS10%
PwBD (Horizontal)5%

State quota admissions follow the reservation policy of the respective state or Union Territory.

Key Points About the Revised Result

  • The revised result reflects corrected candidate data and is essential to verify before reporting, since it determines eligibility for the final Round 1 allotment.
  • To check whether your allotment changed, compare your allotted college, quota, category, and remarks in the revised PDF against the earlier provisional list.
  • The revision applies to all Round 1 participating institutes, including AIIMS, JIPMER, and Central Universities — not just AIQ seats.
  • If your category appears incorrect in the revised result, raise it immediately through MCC's Candidate Grievance Portal before the deadline.
  • The total number of allotted seats remains unchanged — MCC has clarified that the revision was a data correction, not a change in seat numbers.
  • PwD candidates affected by the certificate upload error may notice corrections in their allotment status in the revised list.
  • If your name is missing from the revised allotment PDF despite meeting the eligibility criteria, verify your rank and registration details first, then submit a grievance through the MCC portal without delay.
  • Once the final Round 1 result is declared, eligible candidates can download their official allotment letter through the MCC candidate login for reporting purposes.

Everything Else Candidates Should Know

Number of counselling rounds: MCC conducts around four to five rounds of NEET UG counselling for MBBS, BDS, BHMS, and other seats, depending on the seat matrix and the number of vacant seats remaining after each round.

Understanding the seat matrix: The seat matrix refers to the number of seats offered across participating institutes for each course, released by MCC before counselling begins — covering categories like Deemed Universities, Central Universities, and AIIMS & JIPMER. For later rounds, MCC releases updated lists of newly added seats along with clear and virtual vacancies.

Joining isn't mandatory to move to Round 2: Candidates have a free exit option and need not report to the Round 1 allotted college. However, to retain the Round 1 seat while trying to upgrade in Round 2, candidates must physically join the Round 1 college and choose the "float" option for up-gradation at the time of admission.

Coverage beyond AIQ seats: MCC's counselling isn't limited to the 15% All India Quota — it also covers Central Universities, Deemed Universities, AIIMS, JIPMER, and other participating institutes under NEET UG counselling.

One centralised process: There is no separate counselling process for individual institutes — all candidates participate in a single, centralised MCC counselling process and submit one list of preferences.

Downloading the NEET scorecard: Visit neet.nta.nic.in  click on the NEET scorecard download link, enter your application number, date of birth (or password), and the security PIN, then download and print the scorecard. This document must be preserved carefully until admission and counselling are complete, as it is verified by counselling authorities.

Candidates are advised to keep checking mcc.nic.in regularly for the final Round 1 result and complete their reporting formalities well within the given deadlines.
