The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has issued a crucial notification for all NEET 2025 aspirants applying under the Non-Resident Indian (NRI) quota. The notice provides an updated, comprehensive list of mandatory documents required for counselling, which is a continuation of previous guidelines with added clarity. This is particularly important for candidates who are classified as NRI, Overseas Citizen of India (OCI), or who wish to convert their nationality to NRI for the purpose of admission.

Mandatory Documents for NRI Candidates

Aspirants are required to compile and submit a specific set of documents, all in a single email, to avoid any issues during the counselling process. The updated list includes:

  • NEET UG 2025 Admit Card and Score Card: The primary documents confirming a candidate's qualification.
  • Relationship and Sponsorship Affidavit: A notarized affidavit from the NRI relative stating their commitment to sponsor the candidate's entire course fee and living expenses. This must be supported by a Family Tree Certificate issued by a competent Revenue Authority, which proves the relationship between the sponsor and the candidate.
  • Sponsor's Financial Proof: An NRE (Non-Resident External) Bank Account Passbook of the sponsoring NRI relative.
  • Academic and Personal Records: The candidate's Class 10th and 12th mark sheets and passing certificates, as well as a birth certificate.
  • NRI Status Proof: A valid passport, Visa/Residence Permit/Work Permit, or an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or PIO card of the NRI relative.
  • NRI Certificate: A certificate from a Competent Authority, such as the Indian Embassy or Indian Consulate, confirming the NRI status of the sponsor.

Key Instructions for Aspirants

The MCC has emphasized that documents from Round 1 will not be carried over and must be resubmitted for Round 2. It is essential for all candidates to ensure their documents are accurate and submitted within the specified time frame to prevent the cancellation of their application. This streamlined process is designed to ensure a fair and transparent admission process for all eligible medical aspirants.
