The NCERT has started the registration process for the RIE CEE 2026, which stands for Regional Institutes of Education Common Entrance Examination. This exam is required for admission to various educational programs offered by regional institutes of education spread across India.

Registration for the exam will start on May 15, 2026, and it will close on June 5, 2026.
The exam itself is scheduled for June 28, 2026, and it offers students a chance to get into top-quality educational courses at well-known institutes under NCERT.

Some of the well-known institutes where students can apply include Ajmer, Bhubaneswar, Bhopal, and Mysuru, among others.
These institutes offer a range of courses such as B.Ed., Integrated M.Sc.Ed., and M.Ed., among others.

Students who perform well on the exam will be given admission through this common entrance process.

How to Register?

  • Go to cee.ncert.gov.in and click on the link to start your registration.
  • Fill in your basic details like your name, date of birth, and contact information.
  • Then, upload your photo and signature in the required format.
  • Also, provide your scores from your qualifying exam, whether they're class 12 marks or bachelor’s degree marks.
  • Select your preferred RIE campus and courses, pay the exam fee online, and submit the application form.
  • After that, download the confirmation receipt.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for B.Ed. programs, you must have a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50% marks.
SC/ST/PwD candidates need to score at least 45% marks. For the integrated M.Sc.Ed. 6-year program, you must have passed class 12 with science subjects and achieved a minimum of 50% marks. SC/ST/PwD candidates need a minimum of 45% marks. You must have at least 50% marks in your B.Ed. degree to apply for M.Ed. programs. Candidates who appeared in their qualifying exams in 2024 or 2025, or will appear in 2026, are eligible to apply. 

Programmes Offered

RIEs provide several programs for teacher education. The integrated M.Sc.Ed. is a six-year program for students who have completed class 12. The B.Ed. is a two-year course meant for graduates. BA, BEd, BSc, and BEd are four-year programs, while MEd is a two-year postgraduate program. There is a limited number of seats available for each program, and admission is based on merit, determined by the candidate's CEE score.

Pattern of Exam and Syllabus

The CEE examination is divided into three categories, depending on the program the candidate is applying for. Category A includes the integrated M.Sc.Ed.; Category B includes the B.Ed. and other two-year courses; and Category C includes the M.Ed. program. The subjects covered will vary based on the chosen program. Candidates can download the syllabus and previous year's question papers from the official website.

Admit Card and Exam Day

The admit card will be available from June 20 to June 28, 2026. Candidates can download it from the website using their login details. They should print the admit card and bring it to the examination center along with valid identification documents. It is advised to reach the venue at least 30 minutes before the exam starts and follow all instructions given by the invigilators.
