The University of Mumbai (MU) has published the Postgraduate (PG) Second Merit List 2026. The list is now available on the official website at muadmission.samarth.edu.in. Candidates who were shortlisted can log in and check the seats they have been allocated. This Second Merit List includes applicants who were not selected in the First Merit List. It also shows seats that became available after the first round of allotment. The admission process is based on merit, program preference, and category reservations. The list covers all the PG programs offered through the centralized portal. This includes Master of Arts (MA), Master of Science (MSc), Master of Commerce (MCom), and professional courses. Candidates who have been selected must upload their documents online and pay the admission fee by the given deadline. If they miss this deadline, their allotted seat will be canceled. The PG First Merit List was announced on June 3, 2026. The fee payment for the first round was between June 4 and June 6. The Second Merit List will follow a similar process.

How to Check the MU PG Second Merit List 2026?

  • Visit the official portal at muadmission.samarth.edu.in.
  • Click on the login link for MU PG admissions.
  • Enter your registered application number and password.
  • Open the Second Merit List section for your program.
  • Check your name, allotted college, and category status.
  • Download the merit list PDF for your records.

Who Can Confirm a Seat from the Second Merit List?

Only those listed in the Second Merit List can confirm their seat. The list shows the program, college, and category rank. Each candidate must ensure the program and college mentioned match their application. If you were already admitted under the First Merit List, you cannot apply again. You should contact the college you were allotted for any upgradation or transfer requests. These requests follow the rules mentioned in the official prospectus.

Documents Required for PG Admission Confirmation

Candidates must have scanned copies of their academic and identity proofs ready. The portal will not accept blurred or oversized files. The uploaded files must match the specified format and size limits.

List of Required Documents includes:

  • Class 10 mark sheet and passing certificate
  • Class 12 mark sheet and passing certificate
  • Qualifying degree mark sheets of all semesters
  • Provisional certificate or degree certificate (if issued)
  • Government photo identity proof such as Aadhaar or PAN
  • Recent passport-size photograph and signature scan
  • Caste or category certificate (if applicable)
  • EWS or non-creamy layer certificate (where applicable)
  • Migration certificate (if from another university)

How to Pay the PG Admission Fee Online?

The admission fee must be paid only through the official portal. Offline payments are not accepted at this time. The fee varies depending on the program and college. Candidates can use net banking, debit card, credit card, or UPI. After a successful payment, the portal generates a receipt. Candidates must save and print this for their records. If a payment fails, they can retry from the portal dashboard. The portal keeps track of all attempts and displays the current status. If payments keep failing, they should contact the helpdesk listed on the portal.

What If a Candidate Misses the Deadline?

If the document upload and fee payment deadlines pass, the portal will close. The allotted seat will then be canceled without any notice. The canceled seat will be available in the next admission round. Candidates who miss the Second Merit List deadline may attempt the spot round. This round is only held if there are still available seats. Admission in this round is based on category rules and the order of application.

  • Visit muadmission.samarth.edu.in and log into your account.
  • Open the Second Merit List for your chosen program.
  • Check your name, allotted college, and reserved category.
  • Prepare all the required documents in scanned format.
