The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Madhya Pradesh, has launched the Stray Vacancy Round for NEET UG 2025, offering a final opportunity for aspirants to secure one of 60 vacant MBBS/BDS seats. The seats are distributed across 28 Government and Private Medical and Dental Colleges in the state. Following the closure of the mandatory online choice filling on November 16, 2025, eligible candidates must now urgently report to their respective colleges between November 17 and 18, 2025. This final round is crucial, with admissions closing shortly thereafter.

The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Madhya Pradesh, has set the stage for the crucial Stray Vacancy Round of the NEET UG 2025 counselling process. This round represents the absolute final chance for thousands of medical and dental aspirants to secure a seat in one of the state's prestigious institutions. The competition is exceptionally fierce, with official reports indicating that a staggering 8,871 eligible candidates are vying for just 60 remaining seats, translating to approximately 148 aspirants per vacant spot.

The total count of 60 vacant seats includes both MBBS and BDS courses across 28 different colleges. Breaking down the figures, there are 41 MBBS seats available across 19 Medical Colleges and 19 BDS seats available across 8 Dental Colleges. This scarcity underscores the need for immediate and precise action by all candidates who participated in the choice-filling phase which concluded on November 16, 2025.

  • Total Vacancies: 60 seats (41 MBBS and 19 BDS) are available in the Stray Vacancy Round.
  • Participating Institutions: The seats are distributed across 28 colleges, including both Government and Private Medical and Dental institutions.
  • Choice Filling Concluded: The online choice filling and registration window, which was open from November 14 to November 16, 2025, is now closed. Only candidates who successfully submitted and locked their choices are eligible for the next steps.
  • Competition Intensity: The round faces extremely high competition, demanding that candidates follow the remaining schedule strictly to avoid forfeiture.

Critical Reporting Phase: Nov 17-18 for Online Attendance

With the choice filling successfully concluded, the focus now shifts entirely to the reporting and final admission process. The DME, MP, has mandated a unique procedure for this final round, which requires candidates to present themselves at the college for an 'Online Attendance' phase rather than waiting for a central allotment list. This is a critical departure from the previous rounds, and candidates must adhere to the exact schedule to confirm their interest in the potentially allotted seat.

The official schedule for this decisive phase is as follows:

  • Reporting/Online Attendance at College: Eligible candidates who filled choices must report to their selected colleges between November 17, 2025, and November 18, 2025. This process involves Online Attendance (Real-Time Merit) on the DME portal, which essentially means candidates must physically visit the college during the designated time (10:00 AM to 5:00 PM) to confirm their participation.
  • College-wise Merit List Generation: During this two-day window, the colleges will generate a college-wise merit list for the candidates who have reported and marked their attendance. The list will generally be compiled from the eligible candidates who listed the college as their preference, prioritised by their NEET UG 2025 Rank. The selection will be done based on a real-time merit system, up to 10 times the number of vacancies in the college.
  • Mandatory Document Verification: Candidates must carry all their original documents for verification during this reporting period. This includes the NEET UG 2025 Rank Card, domicile certificate, qualifying marks sheets, caste/category certificates, and the security deposit proof. Verification is crucial; incomplete or incorrect documents will lead to immediate cancellation of candidature.

Final Admission and Essential Guidelines for Aspirants

The Stray Vacancy Round operates on a "no refund, no exchange" policy, meaning that candidates must be fully committed to the college they are provisionally allotted. Since the final date for all NEET UG admissions for the 2025-26 academic year is strictly enforced by the National Medical Commission (NMC), the deadlines in this round are non-negotiable.

  • Final Admission Date: The final admission and completion of formalities for the candidates selected during the Online Attendance phase are scheduled for November 19, 2025. This is the day the successful candidate must pay the full first-year tuition fee and complete all institutional formalities.
  • No Further Rounds: This Stray Vacancy Round is the final counselling round. No further opportunities for MBBS/BDS admissions will be provided by the DME, MP, for the 2025-26 academic session.
  • Ineligibility Caution: Candidates who were previously allotted a seat in any round of AIQ or State Counselling (Round 1, Round 2, or Mop-Up) and failed to resign or report, or who resigned after the allowed cut-off, are generally ineligible to participate. All candidates must ensure they meet the specific eligibility criteria for the Stray Vacancy Round as detailed in the official DME information brochure.
  • Fee and Bond Details: Aspirants must be fully aware of the tuition fee structure, bond conditions (if any), and other mandatory deposits for the colleges they have selected. Being financially prepared is essential for completing the admission process on November 19, 2025.

Conclusion: Act Now to Secure Your MBBS/BDS Dream

The release of the Stray Vacancy Round schedule by the MP DME marks the climax of the NEET UG 2025 counselling. With only 60 seats remaining and the competitive pressure at an all-time high, the next 48 hours are defining for thousands of aspirants. The key to securing a seat is not just high rank, but timely and correct action—specifically, reporting to the college for the mandatory Online Attendance between November 17 and 18, 2025. Aspirants must treat these reporting dates as the final examination of their counselling journey. Miss the deadline, and you miss the chance to become a doctor this year.
