The MHT CET 2026 is unique in its structure, particularly because it does not have negative marking. This encourages students to attempt all questions, but the challenge lies in the strict time limit—180 minutes for 150 questions. Aspirants must split their focus between the Physics and Chemistry section (90 minutes) and the Mathematics section (90 minutes). Understanding the weightage of the Class 12 syllabus, which accounts for 80% of the paper, is the first step toward a high percentile.

• Mathematics: 50 questions, 100 marks (2 marks each).
• Physics & Chemistry: 50 questions each, 100 marks total (1 mark each).
• Total Duration: 3 hours of focused screen-time.
• Syllabus Focus: Strict adherence to Maharashtra State Board textbooks.

Strategic Use of Official and Private Mock Tests

To help students acclimate to the digital interface, the Maharashtra CET Cell has released official mock test links. These tests mirror the actual software used on exam day, allowing students to practice navigation, marking questions for review, and managing the countdown timer. Beyond the official resources, many coaching platforms are offering sectional tests that allow students to focus on weaker chapters like Chemical Thermodynamics or Calculus.

• Official Portal: Access free mock tests without login credentials.
• Speed Drills: Practice solving 50 Math questions within the 90-minute limit.
• Error Analysis: Keeping an error log to avoid repeating the same conceptual mistakes.
• Simulated Environment: Taking tests in a quiet, distraction-free environment to build stamina.

Final Preparation Tips and Registration Check

As students dive into their MHT CET 2026 books, they are also advised to keep an eye on their application status. Ensuring that the registration is complete and the fee is paid is vital before the portal closes on February 12. For those still in the registration phase, the state cell has warned against using fake links on social media and encouraged students to stick to the official website for all updates and practice materials.

• NCERT Integration: While state books are primary, NCERT is helpful for Chemistry concepts.
• Formula Sheets: Create short notes of all Physics and Math formulas for daily revision.
• Stay Updated: Regularly check the CET Cell news section for hall ticket updates.
• Balance: Ensure adequate sleep and physical activity to maintain mental peak performance.

Conclusion

For the 2026 batch of engineering aspirants, success in the MHT CET is more about strategy than just knowledge. By consistently taking mock tests and analyzing their performance, students can bridge the gap between their current score and their target percentile. As the registration rush winds down, the real race begins in the classrooms and study halls across Maharashtra. With the right resources and a disciplined approach, the goal of securing a seat in a premier engineering institute is well within reach for every dedicated candidate.
