Categories & Selection Criteria For PhD Admissions

In Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur, the process for getting into a PhD program depends on two main things: research aptitude and subject knowledge.

• • Students who have valid scores from GATE / UGC-NET / CSIR-NET exams are exempted from the written test but still need to go through the interview if they are selected.
•  Students without these national-level scores must take an institute-level written test to be eligible for the interview round.

Structure of Written Test:

•  Part A: Research Aptitude (30% Weightage)
•  Part B: Subject Knowledge (70% Weightage)

You need to score at least 35% in each section to pass.

To move on to the next round, you must get a minimum of 50% overall.

Eligibility & Selection Process

• Candidates must have completed an undergraduate degree in the relevant field with at least 60% marks (55% for candidates from reserved categories).
• A master's degree is a must for pursuing a PhD.

• • PhD: Both the written test and interview are part of the selection process.

• • Sponsored candidates need a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employers and should have a minimum of two years of industrial experience.
• Self-finance candidates must score at least 35% in the written test.
