EventDate
Registration Start DateSeptember 30, 2025

MICAT Exam Date (Phase 1)December 6, 2025

Aspirants are strongly advised to complete their registration well before the November 20, 2025 deadline to avoid any last-minute technical difficulties.

Eligibility and Application Fee Details

To be eligible for MICA's flagship PGDM and PGDM-C programs, candidates must satisfy two primary criteria: a Bachelor's degree (10+2+3 system) or an equivalent qualification from a recognized university, and a valid score from either CAT 2025, XAT 2026, or GMAT (2024 onwards).

The application process requires payment of a fee. Based on the latest updates, the application fee for a single program (which includes the MICAT exam) has been revised to ₹2,500. Candidates applying for multiple programs may incur an additional fee per program.

Step-by-Step Guide on How to Apply

The application process is entirely online and user-friendly. Aspiring students should follow these steps on the official MICA website:

  1. Visit the official MICA website to access the dedicated MICAT-Phase 1 2026 registration portal.
  2. Fill in the Registration Form with your personal, contact, and educational background details accurately.
  3. Enter your CAT/XAT/GMAT score or the respective registration ID if the results are pending. Remember, a valid score from one of these exams is a prerequisite.
  4. Upload the necessary documents, including a recent passport-size photograph and a clear signature, as per the specified format and size.
  5. Select your preferred program (PGDM and/or PGDM-C) and choose your preferred city for the MICAT exam and the subsequent Group Exercise (GE) and Personal Interview (PI) centers.
  6. Pay the Application Fee of ₹2,500 online using a credit/debit card, net banking, or other available options to complete your submission.

The MICAT Exam Structure: What to Expect

The MICAT exam is unique in its design, assessing not just academic aptitude but also creative and lateral thinking skills. It is a Computer-Based Test (CBT) divided into three distinct sections:

  1. Section A: Psychometric Test: A mandatory, qualifying section with no negative marking, which evaluates the candidate's personality traits and fit for the MICA environment.
  2. Section B: Descriptive Test: This section tests a candidate's creative and written communication abilities, often involving essay writing or story creation based on visuals or given prompts.
  3. Section C: Aptitude Test: This section is objective and has four sub-sections: Divergent-Convergent Reasoning, Verbal Ability, Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation, and General Awareness. Note that this section includes negative marking.

Candidates must clear the Psychometric Test to have the other sections of their paper evaluated. MICA will consider the better of the two scores if a candidate appears for both MICAT-Phase 1 and Phase 2. The final selection will be based on a composite score considering CAT/XAT/GMAT, MICAT, Group Exercise (GE), and Personal Interview (PI) performance.
