For aspiring professionals in the fields of strategic marketing and communication, the path to MICA (Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad) has a unique two-step process. The registration for the MICAT 2025 exam is currently underway, and all students aspiring for the PGDM and PGDM-C programs at MICA must apply for this test. It is a critical, mandatory step in their journey toward this top-tier institution.

It's important to note that a valid MICAT score is required for admission, but it is not the only criterion. Aspirants must also have a valid score from either CAT 2024, XAT 2025, or GMAT (2023 onwards) to be considered for shortlisting.

Key Dates and Exam Structure

The MICAT exam is conducted in two phases, giving aspirants two chances to perform their best.

  • Phase I Registration: The registration window is open and will close on November 22, 2025.
  • Phase II Registration: The registration for the second phase is set to open on November 25, 2025.
  • Application Fee: The fee for each attempt is ₹2,100.

The MICAT exam is known for its distinctive pattern, which includes a Psychometric Test and sections on Verbal Ability, Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation, and General Awareness, along with a Descriptive Test that evaluates creative thinking.

The Two-Part Admission Process

The final admission to MICA is based on a comprehensive selection process that includes:

  1. Aptitude Test Score: A valid score from CAT, XAT, or GMAT.
  2. MICAT Score: Performance in the MICAT exam, which is given significant weight.
  3. Group Exercise & Personal Interview (GE & PI): Shortlisted candidates are invited for these rounds, which assess their leadership, communication, and creative skills.
