MCC Issues Final Call for NEET UG 2024 Pending Refunds; Notarized Affidavit Required
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), under the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), has released a critical notification for candidates of the NEET UG 2024 cycle who are yet to receive their security deposit refunds. As of March 23, 2026, the MCC has published a specific list of affected candidates and outlined a mandatory procedure to initiate these long-awaited payments.

This notice is primarily for students who either reported to their allotted college after Round 2 or exercised their "Free Exit" option in Round 1 but have faced technical hurdles in the automated refund process.
Mandatory "Annexure A" Submission Process
To claim the refund, listed candidates must move beyond the automated system and submit a physical claim in a digitized format.
Step-by-Step Instructions:
- Draft an Affidavit: Details must be provided in the form of an affidavit, typed on Court Stamp Paper and duly notarized.
- Fill Annexure A: The format (available on the MCC website) requires your NEET roll number, application number, and the exact amount paid.
- Email Submission: Send the scanned, notarized affidavit to adgme@nic.in with a mandatory copy (CC) to financemcc@lifecarehll.com.
Pro Tip: Ensure the bank details provided in the affidavit match the account where you want the money credited. Any discrepancy between the affidavit and your bank passbook will lead to further rejection.
Essential Documents to Attach
Along with the notarized affidavit, you must attach scanned copies of the following to your email:
- Aadhaar Card (Self-attested).
- NEET UG 2024 Admit Card (showing your roll number).
- Proof of Payment: Details of the bank account/card from which the security deposit was originally remitted.
- Refund Destination Proof: A scanned copy of a cancelled cheque or the front page of the bank passbook where the refund is to be made.
Eligibility for Refund: A Quick Refresher
The MCC has reiterated the specific conditions under which the security deposit is refundable. If your name is on the list, you likely fall into one of these categories:
- Round 1 Free Exit: You were allotted a seat in Round 1 but did not join.
- Successfully Joined: You were allotted a seat in Round 2 or subsequent rounds and completed the joining formalities.
- No Allotment: You participated in all rounds but were not allotted any seat.
Forfeiture Warning: If a candidate was allotted a seat in Round 2 (or later) but failed to join, or resigned after joining, their security deposit is forfeited and they are not eligible for this refund process. For regular updates on the 2026 counseling cycle, follow Only Education News.
Status of the 2026 Cycle
While these 2024 refunds are being cleared, the NEET UG 2026 registration and correction windows are currently active. Aspirants are advised to keep their banking details updated from day one to avoid similar delays in the future.
