The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has issued a crucial notification regarding a revised schedule for the NEET PG 2025 Round 1 Counselling, primarily extending the deadline for Choice Filling and Locking due to updates in the seat matrix. This extension is aimed at allowing aspirants to incorporate newly added seats into their preferences and revise their choices accordingly.

Revised Round 1 Counselling Schedule

The changes impact the choice filling deadline and the subsequent result publication and reporting dates. Aspirants must note the updated timeline:

ActivityPrevious Deadline (Approx.)Revised Deadline/Date
Choice FillingNovember 20, 2025 (Original)Till 12:00 Noon, November 21, 2025
Choice LockingNovember 20, 2025 (Original)Till 12:00 Noon, November 21, 2025
Seat Allotment ResultNovember 20, 2025 (Original)November 22, 2025
Reporting to Allotted CollegeNovember 21 - November 27, 2025 (Original)November 23 - December 1, 2025

Reason for Extension: Revised Seat Matrix

The primary reason for the schedule revision is the substantial change in the seat matrix for Round 1. The NMC and NBE have provided updated seat data, which the MCC must integrate into the counselling system to ensure fair and accurate allotment.

  • Seats Added: The seat matrix has been augmented by 239 new PG seats (MD/MS/PG Programmes) which have been recently sanctioned by the National Medical Commission (NMC) across various Deemed Universities. This increase is a welcome development for aspirants, as it expands the overall pool of available seats.
  • Seats Withdrawn: Simultaneously, 235 PG DNB seats have been withdrawn from the Round 1 matrix following intimation from the National Board of Examinations (NBE). This includes both Government DNB (186 seats) and Private DNB (49 seats).

These changes necessitated the extension of the choice-filling window to allow candidates to review the updated seat matrix PDF and modify their preferences to reflect the newly available or withdrawn options. This is especially critical for those who have preferences in the Deemed Universities or DNB categories.

Mandatory Action for Aspirants

All candidates who have registered for Round 1 must utilize this extended period to:

  1. Re-evaluate their preference list based on the updated seat matrix, giving fresh consideration to the 239 newly added seats.
  2. Ensure they lock their choices before the strict deadline of 12:00 Noon on November 21, 2025. Choices that remain unlocked after this time will be automatically locked by the system.
  3. Prepare for the result declaration on November 22, 2025, and subsequently, the college reporting which will run from November 23 to December 1, 2025.

The extended reporting period until December 1st gives successful candidates a necessary buffer to complete their admission formalities, including document verification and fee payment, at the allotted college.
