The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), under the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), has announced a significant boost in the availability of MBBS seats for the ongoing NEET UG Round 3 counselling for the academic year 2025. A total of 67 new seats have been incorporated into the seat matrix, compelling the MCC to extend the choice filling window to allow medical aspirants to modify their preferences.

This last-minute addition stems from updates received from two institutions: ESIC Medical College, Joka (Kolkata), and Vels Medical College & Hospital, Tiruvallur, Tamil Nadu.

Breakdown of New Seat Additions

The 67 newly added seats are distributed across different quotas and categories, providing varied opportunities for candidates:

The 17 seats at ESIC Medical College are vital for those eligible under the All India Quota and the reserved ESIC Quota.

Extended Choice Filling Deadline

Due to the introduction of these new seats, the MCC has revised the schedule for the third round. Candidates must take immediate action to incorporate these new vacancies into their college preference list:

  • The Choice Filling window has been extended until TODAY, October 10, 2025, at 8:00 AM.
  • The Choice Locking facility was activated last evening and closed simultaneously with the choice filling window this morning.

Aspirants who participated in previous rounds, especially those still seeking allotment, must ensure they have included these new seats in their choices to maximize their chances of securing an MBBS seat.
