This announcement is a crucial juncture for thousands of MBA/PGDM aspirants, as the results for both the Paper-Based Test (PBT) held on September 21 and the Computer-Based Test (CBT) held on September 28 will be released simultaneously. Aspirants must be prepared to check their scorecards promptly, as this score will determine their eligibility for the subsequent admission process in over 600 B-schools across India.
How to Download Your MAT Scorecard
Candidates must download their official scorecards from the AIMA MAT website, mat.aima.in, as hard copies are not mailed. The process is straightforward:
- Visit the official AIMA MAT website.
- Log in to the candidate portal using their unique registration number (or roll number) and email ID.
- Select the relevant exam month (September 2025).
- Click on the 'Scorecard' option to view and download the result.
The MAT scorecard will detail the candidate's section-wise scores, the overall Composite Score (reported on a scale of 199 to 801), and most importantly, the MAT Percentile. This percentile score, which indicates the percentage of candidates who scored below a particular test-taker, is the main criterion used by institutes for shortlisting candidates.
What Happens After the MAT Result Declaration?
The release of the MAT score marks the end of the entrance exam phase and the beginning of the crucial selection process for admission into PGDM/MBA programs. Aspirants should immediately focus on the following steps:
1. Checking College Cutoffs and Applying to New Institutions
While candidates selected up to five colleges during their application to which AIMA will automatically send their scores, it is essential to actively check the MAT cutoff percentiles for those and other desired colleges. Top B-schools often look for a percentile in the 80-95+ range (e.g., Amity Business School, BIMTECH, Christ University). Candidates who have achieved a satisfactory score should now apply directly to other shortlisted institutions that accept MAT scores, as most colleges have their own application deadlines separate from the AIMA process.
2. Preparing for Selection Rounds
Shortlisted candidates will be called for the final stages of the admission process, which typically include:
- Group Discussion (GD)
- Personal Interview (PI)
- Sometimes, a Written Ability Test (WAT)
Aspirants should begin their preparation for these rounds immediately, focusing on current affairs, management concepts, and communication skills, as these rounds carry significant weight in the final merit list.
3. Considering Re-Attempt (If Unsatisfied)
The major advantage of MAT is that it is conducted four times a year. If a candidate is not satisfied with their September score, they still have the opportunity to reappear for the MAT December 2025 session. The best score among all attempts will be considered for admission.
