MAT CBT 2026 Exam Tomorrow: Check September 20 Timings, Reporting Time, Documents and Exam-Day Guidelines

The All India Management Association will conduct the September MAT CBT on September 20, 2026. Candidates should download their admit cards, check their allotted examination timings and carry the required documents to the test centre.

The MAT CBT 2026 exam is scheduled for Sunday, September 20, 2026. The All India Management Association (AIMA) will conduct the computer-based examination at designated centres across India. Registered candidates can download their admit cards from the official MAT website, mat.aima.in.

The reported morning examination slot runs from 10 AM to 12 noon. Candidates assigned this slot should check their reporting and gate-closing instructions carefully. The admit card remains the authoritative source for each candidate's exact test time, centre address and entry requirements.

Applicants should carry a printed CBT admit card and an accepted original photo identity document. They should also review the permitted and prohibited items before leaving for the centre.

MAT CBT September 2026: Key Highlights

The official MAT information page confirms the September 20 examination date and two-hour test duration.

MAT CBT 2026 Exam Timing and Reporting Time

Candidates must arrive at their allotted centre according to the schedule printed on their admit cards.

The following timings have been reported for the morning CBT session:

These timings are published in a MAT exam-schedule guide. AIMA's official FAQ instructs CBT candidates to follow their individual admit-card timings.

Important: Candidates should not rely on the table if their admit card specifies a different session or reporting schedule.

Can Candidates Enter After the Gate Closes?

The published examination guidelines state that centre gates close before the examination begins and late entry is not permitted after closure.

Candidates should reach their centre by the reporting time printed on the admit card, allowing extra time for traffic, verification and security procedures.

MAT CBT 2026: Documents Required at the Exam Centre

Candidates should organise their examination documents before travelling.

The core examination documents are the printed admit card and original photo ID. A MAT examination guide also recommends bringing a ballpoint pen and photographs, while the exact requirements should be checked against the candidate's hall ticket.

Which Photo ID Is Accepted for MAT?

The published guidelines identify examples including:

• Aadhaar card
• PAN card
• Voter ID
• Passport
• Driving licence

Candidates should carry the original document, not rely solely on a photograph or digital copy of an ID.

The identity details should correspond with the information on the admit card.

MAT CBT 2026: Prohibited Items

Candidates should avoid bringing items that are not allowed inside the examination hall.

These include:

• Mobile phones
• Smartwatches and other electronic watches
• Earphones and headphones
• Calculators
• Notes, books and loose papers
• Other unauthorised electronic devices

The September admit-card coverage identifies calculators, smartwatches, phones and other electronic devices as prohibited. It also states that rough-work sheets will be provided if required.

Candidates should avoid bringing large bags because storage arrangements may not be available at the centre. Follow the precise list in the official examination instructions.

MAT CBT 2026 Exam-Day Guidelines

AIMA expects candidates to comply with examination-centre procedures and invigilator instructions.

Before the Examination

Arrive within the reporting window. Keep the admit card and identification ready, and cooperate with identity verification and security checks.

Locate the correct examination room and follow the seating instructions provided by centre staff.

During the Examination

Remain at the assigned workstation and follow the instructions displayed on the computer.

Do not communicate with other candidates or use unauthorised materials.

If there is a technical problem, immediately inform the invigilator instead of attempting to resolve it by interfering with the examination equipment.

After the Examination

Follow the invigilator's instructions for submitting any rough-work material and leaving the examination room.

Published MAT examination guidance states that candidates are not permitted to leave the examination room before the test ends.

Candidates should follow their individual admit-card instructions if any venue-specific procedure differs from a general exam guide.

MAT September 2026 CBT Exam Pattern

AIMA confirms that MAT contains 150 multiple-choice questions distributed across five sections, with 30 questions in each section. The examination duration is 120 minutes.

AIMA specifies a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer.

Candidates should manage their time across the five sections and follow any navigation instructions displayed during the computer-based test.

MAT PBT vs CBT September 2026: Important Difference

The September session includes two examination modes, but they have different schedules.

These dates are confirmed by AIMA's official September examination schedule.

Candidates appearing on September 20 must download their CBT admit card. They should not confuse it with the earlier PBT hall ticket, even if they registered for both modes.
