Today, October 25, at 11:59 PM, marks the absolute last minute for online registration for the CAP Round 3. This deadline is particularly important for those candidates who are registering for the first time or those who cancelled/did not join their allotted seats in CAP Round 2 and are now required to unlock their CAP application form, resubmit it, and make the necessary payment from their candidate login.

The Directorate of Medical Education and Research, Maharashtra, has resumed the Centralised Admission Process (CAP)-Round 3 of the NEET UG counselling for admission to MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) and BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) courses for the academic year 2025-26. This is a critical window for aspirants seeking medical and dental seats in the state under the State Quota. The State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra, has made this announcement, urging all eligible candidates to adhere to the revised and condensed schedule.

Final Registration and Choice Filling Window

Today, October 25, at 11:59 PM, marks the absolute last minute for online registration for the CAP Round 3. This deadline is particularly important for those candidates who are registering for the first time or those who cancelled/did not join their allotted seats in CAP Round 2 and are now required to unlock their CAP application form, resubmit it, and make the necessary payment from their candidate login.

Aspirants who had already registered previously and are eligible for this round do not need to register again. However, all candidates participating in Round 3 are strongly advised to meticulously prepare for the next step: choice filling. The choices submitted in previous rounds are now considered null and void, making the fresh submission of preferences for Round 3 mandatory.

Important Dates for Aspiring Candidates

The schedule for the next crucial steps is tight, requiring prompt action from all participants:

  • Choice Filling / Editing of Preference Form: The option for online filling and editing of college/course preferences will be active for a very short period, running from October 27 to October 28, with the deadline at 11:59 PM on October 28. Candidates must fill and lock their preferences during this time. A carefully prioritised list of choices is essential, as the seat allotment is heavily dependent on these preferences, in addition to the candidate's NEET State Merit Rank and the availability of seats.
  • Declaration of Seat Allotment Result: The highly anticipated Maharashtra NEET UG seat allotment results for Round 3 will be declared on October 30. This selection list will indicate the college and course allotted to the successful candidates.

Post-Allotment and Admission Procedures

Following the release of the selection list, candidates who secure an allotment must proceed quickly to secure their admission. The subsequent period will involve physical reporting to the allotted college for document verification and admission formalities. Candidates must carry all their original documents and the requisite fees (to be paid via DD/Cheque, with instructions on replacing cheques with DDs after bank holidays).

A key instruction for Round 3 is the mandatory joining of the allotted seat. Candidates who are allotted a seat in CAP Round 3 will not be considered for subsequent rounds (like the Stray Vacancy Round), irrespective of whether they join the allotted seat or not. Their details will be informed to the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for further process and potential disqualification from All India Quota rounds, as per the Information Brochure.

Aspirants are advised to regularly check the official website of the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra, for any further updates, seat matrix details, and detailed reporting instructions. For regular updates follow Only Education News.
