Maharashtra NEET UG 2025: Round 2 Registration Commences Soon for State Quota Seats

In a much-anticipated move for thousands of medical aspirants in the state, the Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has officially announced the commencement of the Round 2 counselling process for NEET UG 2025. This crucial phase is set to provide a second chance for candidates who either did not secure a seat in the first round of the state's counselling or are looking to upgrade their provisional allotments. The announcement comes as a significant update following the conclusion of the Round 1 reporting period, which saw a large number of students confirming their admissions across various MBBS and BDS colleges.

This second round of counselling is a pivotal moment in the medical admission cycle, as it aims to fill the seats that remained vacant after the first round. For many aspiring students, this is the last major opportunity to secure a seat in a coveted government or private college based on their NEET UG 2025 scores. The CET Cell has been meticulous in its approach, ensuring a transparent and merit-based allocation process. The state counselling authority has urged all eligible candidates to register and fill in their choices diligently to maximize their chances of securing a seat. Key Dates and Procedures for Round 2

The official schedule released by the CET Cell outlines the following key dates for the second round:

• Registration and Fee Payment: Fresh registration for eligible candidates is expected to begin shortly, giving those who missed the first round another opportunity to participate.
• Choice Filling and Locking: All registered candidates will be required to fill in their college and course preferences online. The choices must be locked by a specified deadline. This step is critical, as the seat allotment is heavily dependent on the order of preferences submitted by the candidate.
• Seat Allotment Result: The CET Cell will release the provisional seat allotment result for Round 2 on its official website, based on the choices filled and the candidates' NEET merit rank.
• Physical Reporting: Allotted candidates will then have to report to their respective colleges to complete the admission formalities, including document verification and fee payment.

It is highly recommended that candidates prepare their list of colleges in order of preference well in advance. Analyzing the Round 1 cutoffs can provide valuable insight into the available seats and help in making an informed decision. The CET Cell will also publish a seat matrix for Round 2, which will clearly indicate the number of vacant seats in each college and category.
