The State Common Entrance Test Cell (CET Cell), Maharashtra, has brought a wave of relief to thousands of medical and dental aspirants with the release of the provisional merit list for the second round of NEET UG 2025 counselling. This crucial list, now available on the official website, cetcell.net.in/, signifies the commencement of the next phase of admissions for MBBS and BDS courses in the state. Aspirants can now check their ranks and eligibility for the upcoming choice-filling process.

The provisional list includes the names and ranks of all candidates who have been deemed eligible to participate in Round 2. It also highlights the categories and special reservations, providing a clear picture for aspirants as they prepare their list of preferred colleges. This round is particularly significant as it offers a fresh opportunity for candidates who were not allotted a seat in the first round, as well as for those who are seeking an upgrade to a more desired college.

Next Steps for Aspirants: Choice Filling and Allotment

Following the release of the provisional list, the CET Cell is expected to announce the detailed schedule for Round 2 choice filling and seat allotment within the next 24 hours. Aspirants are advised to keep a close watch on the official website, as the choice-filling window is often a brief and time-sensitive period.

Here's what aspirants should prepare for:

• Choice Filling: The upcoming choice-filling period will allow aspirants to select their preferred government and private medical and dental colleges from the updated seat matrix. The number of vacant seats from Round 1, including those from which candidates resigned, will be added to this matrix.
• Seat Allotment: The seat allotment for Round 2 will be based on the choices filled by the candidates and their respective NEET UG ranks.
• Document Verification & Admission: Candidates who are allotted a seat in this round will have to report to their respective colleges with all necessary original documents for verification and to complete the admission process.

The CET Cell has emphasized that this round is a golden opportunity to secure a seat, especially with the high number of vacancies from the first round. Aspirants are urged to meticulously plan their choices to maximize their chances of securing a seat.
