The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell is currently conducting the Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Management Studies (MMS) Common Entrance Test for the academic year 2026-27. As of April 7, 2026, the examination has entered its second day of the first attempt window. Thousands of management aspirants across the state are appearing for this computer-based test to secure seats in premier institutions like JBIMS, SIMSREE, and PUMBA.

This year is a landmark for the Maharashtra CET Cell as it has introduced a two-attempt system for the first time. The current window, which began on April 6, is scheduled to conclude on April 8. For candidates who are appearing today or tomorrow, the exam is being held in multiple sessions to accommodate the large volume of applicants. Early feedback from those who appeared in the initial shifts suggests a moderate difficulty level, with a heavy emphasis on logical reasoning and abstract patterns.

Exam Structure and Session Highlights

The MAH MBA CET 2026 is a 150-minute examination consisting of 200 multiple-choice questions. A significant advantage for every applicant is the absence of negative marking, allowing students to attempt all questions without the risk of losing marks for incorrect answers. The paper is divided into four major sections: Logical Reasoning, Abstract Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, and Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension.

The State CET Cell has ensured that the normalization process will be applied to the scores of all sessions to maintain a fair merit ranking. Since the difficulty level may vary slightly between shifts, the percentile-based calculation will ensure that no student is at a disadvantage due to the specific set of questions they received. Candidates appearing in the afternoon session today are advised to report to their centers at least 90 minutes before the commencement of the test to complete the biometric verification process.

Mandatory Guidelines for Candidates

As the exam continues, the authorities have reiterated the importance of the official admit card. Students must carry a printed copy of the hall ticket along with a valid photo identity proof, such as an Aadhaar card, PAN card, or Voter ID. The admit card contains specific instructions regarding the prohibited items in the examination hall, including calculators, digital watches, and any electronic gadgets.

For any applicant who encounters technical glitches at the center, the invigilators have been instructed to provide immediate assistance. The testing centers are equipped with backup servers to minimize disruptions. Additionally, the CET Cell has maintained a strict anti-malpractice code, and any merit obtained through unfair means will result in immediate disqualification and legal action.

Second Attempt and Future Roadmap

While many are focused on the current window, some candidates are looking toward the newly introduced second attempt scheduled for May 9. This gives an additional opportunity to those who wish to improve their scores or who might have missed the first window due to other academic commitments. The registration for the second attempt was completed alongside the first, and no new applications are being accepted at this stage.

Following the conclusion of the April 8 sessions, the provisional answer keys are expected to be released on the official portal by the second week of April. This will allow students to raise objections before the final results are processed. The Centralized Admission Process (CAP) rounds are tentatively scheduled to begin in mid-June, once the final results for both attempts are consolidated into a unified ranking list.

The MAH MBA CET 2026 examination is progressing smoothly through its three-day window. For every applicant currently in the middle of this process, the focus remains on speed and accuracy. The introduction of two attempts has provided a safety net, but the merit competition remains high given the limited seats in top-tier colleges. As the sessions on April 7 continue, students must rely on the instructions provided on their admit card and ensure timely arrival at the venue. The official portal will remain the primary source for post-exam updates, including the release of the answer key and the final scorecard. All candidates are encouraged to maintain their composure and utilize the remaining time in the test effectively to maximize their potential percentile.
