LPUNEST 2026 Phase 1 Application and Slot Booking Now Active
Published 13 Dec 20253 min read601 Views
While online registration has been open since October 14, 2025, the critical step of Slot Booking for the examination commenced on December 10, 2025, making the application process fully active. Students must complete both their application and slot booking by the rigid deadline of January 15, 2026.
The Twin Advantage: Admission and Scholarship
The LPUNEST is unique because it serves a dual purpose: it acts as the mandatory entrance test for most engineering programs and is the key mechanism for determining the scholarship bracket offered by the university.
- Scholarship Benefit: The scholarships offered are based on the score in LPUNEST and are structured into different categories (Cut-offs 1, 2, and 3). Scoring well in the early phases, particularly Phase 1, places candidates in contention for the highest scholarship slab, potentially offering significant tuition fee waivers.
- Dual Exam Mode: LPU offers aspirants flexibility by conducting the exam in two modes:
- Remotely Proctored Online Exam: From January 10 to February 5, 2026, allowing students to take the test from home (requires two devices: a laptop/desktop and a smartphone for live proctoring).
- Test Centre-Based Exam: From January 20 to February 5, 2026, for those who prefer a traditional physical center environment.
Critical Deadline: January 15, 2026
The time between the start of slot booking and the deadline is short. All aspirants must prioritize the following steps:
- Registration: Complete the online application form and pay the application fee (Soft Copy Kit: ₹1,000; Printed Kit: ₹1,500).
- Slot Booking (FCFS): Log in and select the preferred mode of exam (Remote or Test Centre), along with the date and time. Slot booking operates on a First-Come, First-Served basis. Booking early is essential to guarantee a convenient test slot before they are fully occupied. The slot booking window closes on January 15, 2026.
- Appear for Exam: The Phase 1 examination window runs through January and early February 2026.
