The web option entry for the first round of Andhra Pradesh NEET 2025 Counselling, a critical step for aspiring medical students, is currently underway. Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences (NTRUHS), the counselling authority, has set August 22, 2025, as the final date for submitting web options, and students are urged to complete the process before the 5 PM deadline. This is a one-time opportunity, and no extensions will be granted. For regular updates, follow Only Education News.

The counselling process is a key phase for candidates who have qualified for the NEET 2025 entrance examination and are on the final merit position list. The allotment of seats for MBBS courses under the Competent Authority Quota for the 2025-26 academic year will be based on the choices submitted by students. In a move to assist candidates, NTRUHS has released the seat matrix, which provides a clear overview of available seats across various government and private medical colleges.

To participate, candidates must log in to the official website using their credentials. The web option entry allows students to select their preferred courses and colleges in a specific order of priority. This is a crucial step as the final seat allotment is directly influenced by the order of preference chosen by the candidate. An OTP (One-Time Password) is sent to the candidate's registered mobile number and email address to authenticate the submission, ensuring the security of their choices.

Understanding the Web Option Entry Process

Web option entry is more than just choosing colleges; it's a strategic exercise. Candidates must consider their state merit rank, the number of seats available in each college (as per the seat matrix), and past year's cut-off ranks before finalizing their choices. A well-thought-out list of preferences maximizes the chances of securing a seat in a desired institution. Aspirants are advised to list as many colleges as possible, prioritizing their top choices, to increase their opportunities for admission.

Once the web options are submitted and locked, candidates should take a printout of the confirmation page for their records. This document serves as proof of the choices they have made. Following the conclusion of the web option entry period, NTRUHS will proceed with the seat allotment process, which will be followed by the announcement of the seat allotment result. The date for the seat allotment result is yet to be announced by the university. The provisional merit list, which was released on August 15, 2025, includes 14,324 eligible candidates.

Essential Documents and Next Steps

Candidates who are allotted a seat in this round will be required to report to the designated college for document verification and to complete the admission formalities. It is essential for all candidates to have the following documents ready in their original form, along with attested photocopies, as they are mandatory for admission:

  • NEET 2025 Admit Card and Scorecard
  • Class 10 and Class 12 Mark Sheets
  • Study and Transfer Certificates
  • Caste Certificate (if applicable)
  • Domicile/Residence Proof
  • Aadhaar Card or other valid ID proof
  • Passport-size photographs
  • Provisional Allotment Letter (downloaded after seat allotment)

After the first round of counselling, any vacant seats will be carried forward to subsequent rounds, including Round 2 and a Mop-Up round. Candidates who are not allotted a seat in the first round or wish to upgrade their seat can participate in the following rounds by submitting new choices. It is crucial to stay updated with the official announcements on the NTRUHS website as new schedules for subsequent rounds and additional instructions will be posted there.
