KCET Counselling 2026 Live Updates: Round 3 Provisional Seat Allotment OUT at cetonline.karnataka.gov.in

The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has released the KCET 2026 Round 3 provisional seat allotment result. Candidates who participated in the third round of the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) counselling can now check their allotted college and course through the official KEA website at cetonline.karnataka.gov.in. The Round 3 allotment is an important stage of the KCET 2026 counselling process, particularly for candidates seeking admission to engineering and other undergraduate programmes in Karnataka. The provisional allotment has been prepared considering factors such as the candidate's KCET rank, choices entered during option entry, category and availability of seats. Candidates who have received a seat in this round should carefully go through the allotment details and the instructions issued by KEA before selecting their next course of action.

KCET Round 3 Seat Allotment 2026: What's New?

The Round 3 provisional allotment covers candidates participating in the final phase of the KCET counselling process. The allotment includes seats for various undergraduate programmes, including engineering, architecture, pharmacy, nursing, veterinary, farm science and other eligible courses. Candidates can view their allotment by logging in through the official KEA portal using their required credentials. The allotment result is provisional, which means candidates should not treat the displayed seat as a final admission until they complete the prescribed admission and fee-related formalities.

KCET 2026 Round 3 Allotment: How Is the Seat Decided?

KEA considers several factors while processing the Round 3 allotment. These include the candidate's KCET merit/rank, reservation category, preferred college and course choices and availability of seats. This means that simply having a particular rank does not guarantee admission to a specific college or branch. The final allotment depends on how the candidate's preferences match the available seats during the counselling round.

Choice 4 Window Opens for Eligible Candidates

One of the important developments following the Round 3 provisional allotment is the Choice 4 option for candidates who are freshly allotted seats in this round. Choice 4 essentially allows an eligible candidate to exit the counselling process rather than proceed with the allotted seat. Candidates should therefore read KEA's instructions carefully before selecting it. KEA has also cautioned candidates about the consequences of cancelling or surrendering an allotted seat. Reports indicate that candidates who withdraw in violation of the applicable rules could face a financial penalty, making it important to understand the choice options before confirming any decision.

KCET Round 3 Seat Allotment 2026: What Should Candidates Do Now?

Candidates who have been allotted a seat should first check whether the college and course match their preference. After that, they should carefully read the Choice 1, Choice 2, Choice 3 and Choice 4 instructions, wherever applicable, before selecting an option. Students should not select a choice simply because it appears on the screen. The decision can have consequences for their participation in the counselling process and, in some cases, their previously allotted seat. Candidates should also keep track of the payment, reporting and admission deadlines announced by KEA.
