The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) is currently processing online applications for the Post Graduate Common Entrance Test (PGCET) 2026. This state-level entrance examination is the primary gateway for students seeking admission into first-year Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Computer Applications (MCA) programs across Karnataka. The registration window, which opened earlier this week, allows aspirants to submit their details for the 2026-27 academic session.

As of March 27, 2026, the application portal remains active for all eligible candidates, including those from Karnataka and non-Karnataka backgrounds. The entrance test is mandatory for securing seats in government, aided, and private institutions affiliated with universities in the state. Candidates are advised to complete their submissions through the official KEA portal to avoid any technical difficulties as the deadline approaches.

Karnataka PGCET 2026 Admission Schedule

The KEA has established a clear timeline for the registration and examination process. While the registration started on March 23, candidates still have ample time to finalize their applications and pay the required fees.

The table below outlines the key dates and events for the Karnataka PGCET 2026 admission cycle:

Eligibility and Application Requirements

To qualify for the MBA and MCA entrance tests, candidates must meet specific academic benchmarks. For the full-time MBA program, a bachelor's degree of at least three years duration is required. General category applicants need a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in their qualifying degree, while candidates from SC, ST, and Category-I of Karnataka are eligible with 45% marks.

The MCA program requires a similar percentage of marks, but candidates must have studied Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or Business Mathematics at the 10+2 level or during their graduation. Final-year students are also permitted to apply, provided they can produce their passing certificates during the centralized counselling process.

Registration Process and Fee Structure

The application process is entirely digital. Candidates must first create a user account on the official website by providing basic information such as their name and mobile number. After generating login credentials, applicants are required to fill in their academic history, personal details, and choice of exam centers.

The registration fee for general and OBC category candidates is approximately 650 to 700 rupees. Reserved category candidates from Karnataka are eligible for a reduced fee of 500 rupees. The payment must be completed online by April 10, 2026. Candidates should ensure that scanned copies of their photograph, signature, and left thumb impression meet the size specifications mentioned in the information bulletin before uploading.

Conclusion

The Karnataka PGCET 2026 registration process is moving forward steadily as the April 8 deadline draws closer. With the examination for MBA and MCA courses scheduled for May 24, students now have a confirmed timeline to structure their preparation. The transition to the 2026-27 academic cycle highlights the continued importance of this entrance test for postgraduate professional education in the state. Aspirants are encouraged to monitor the KEA portal regularly for updates regarding the release of admit cards and specific exam center instructions.
