The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has announced a crucial extension for the registration process of Karnataka NEET PG Counselling 2025. This is a significant relief for postgraduate medical aspirants who have qualified for the NEET PG 2025 examination. The new and final deadline for registration and fee payment is Tuesday, October 15, 2025, at 11:00 AM. With this extension, candidates have a limited but final window to secure their participation in the state-level seat allotment process for MD/MS/Postgraduate Diploma courses in Karnataka.

Key Details and Action Steps

This extension is vital as registration is the mandatory first step to be eligible for seat allotment. Candidates must not wait for the very last hour on the final day, October 15, as server load or technical glitches could prevent successful submission.

  • Revised Last Date for Online Registration & Fee Payment: October 15, 2025, till 11:00 AM.
  • Official Website for Application: Eligible candidates must apply exclusively through the Karnataka Examinations Authority's dedicated portal: cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea/pget2025.
  • Eligibility: Only candidates who have qualified in NEET PG 2025 and meet the prescribed minimum percentile are eligible to register. Non-Karnataka candidates applying for seats will be considered under the General (UR) category, making it essential to meet the 50th percentile criteria for that category.

Beyond Registration: The Next Counselling Steps

Once the registration window closes, the KEA will proceed with the subsequent phases of Round 1 Counselling. Aspirants must prepare for the next critical steps:

  1. Document Verification: After successful registration, candidates will need to have their documents verified, which may be conducted either online or at designated centers. Key documents include the NEET PG Admit Card and Scorecard, MBBS Degree/Provisional Certificate, Internship Completion Certificate, State Medical Council/NMC Registration, and relevant Category/Domicile Certificates. Only candidates who complete the verification successfully will be included in the final merit list and become eligible for choice filling.
  2. Choice Filling and Locking: Verified candidates will then be given a specific window to log in to the portal and fill in their preferences for courses and colleges. This step is arguably the most crucial, as the final seat allotment is based on the combination of a candidate's NEET PG rank, reservation status, and the order of choices entered. Choices must be locked before the deadline to be considered for allotment.
  3. Seat Allotment: The KEA will release a Mock Allotment result to give candidates an idea of their likely seat based on their choices, followed by a final opportunity to modify choices. The final Round 1 seat allotment result will then be published.

Aspirants are strongly advised to meticulously check all documents and details during registration, as any error or omission could lead to disqualification. Given the competitive nature of postgraduate medical admissions, securing a spot requires absolute precision at every step.
