JoSAA 2026 Round 3 Opening and Closing Ranks

Opening and closing ranks indicate the span of ranks within which seats were allotted. This information is organized by institute, course, seat category, and gender. It enables candidates to assess prospects for Round 4 and subsequent rounds. For open category seats, the site displays CRL (Common Rank List) positions. For EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, and ST categories, it provides category-based ranks. A rank carrying the letter 'P' indicates it comes from the preparatory list.

How to Check the Round 3 Cutoff on the Official Portal?

1. On the JoSAA website, open the OR-CR section.
2. From the dropdown, choose round number 3.
3. Set the institute category, then select the institute and the academic program.

What do "freeze," "float," and "slide" mean in JoSAA Round 3?

During online reporting, each allotted candidate has to choose one willingness setting. That selection determines what upgrade options remain in the following rounds.

• Freeze: Keep the allotted seat as final and opt out of any further upgrades in later rounds.
• Float: Accept the current allotment while remaining eligible for a higher preferred institute.
• Slide: Confirm the seat while staying eligible for a better branch within the same institute.
