JEECUP 2026 Round 6 Choice Filling Starts August 21; Check Full Additional Counselling Schedule

If you're still waiting for a polytechnic seat in Uttar Pradesh, there's good news — JEECUP has opened up two more rounds. The council has released the additional counselling schedule for Rounds 6 and 7 of the 2026 cycle, and choice filling for Round 6 kicks off on August 21, 2026, on the official portal, jeecup.admissions.nic.in.

The Joint Entrance Examination Council, Uttar Pradesh (JEECUP) put out the notification covering both additional rounds, and the complete schedule — dates for choice filling, seat allotment, reporting, and fee payment — is available on the official website.

Here's some context: Round 5 seat allotment results came out on August 11, 2026, and the reporting deadline for that round was later extended to August 17. With that round wrapped up, the council has now moved to fill whatever polytechnic seats are still lying vacant — which is exactly what Rounds 6 and 7 are for.

JEECUP 2026 Round 6: Key Dates at a Glance

Seat allotment dates for Round 6 aren't mentioned above, so it's worth checking the official notification directly — the reporting and fee payment windows are also spelled out there.

Who Can Apply for Rounds 6 and 7?

Good news for anyone who's been left without a seat so far: these additional rounds are open to everyone who registered for JEECUP 2026 — that includes both UP and non-UP candidates. So whether you never got allotted a seat at all, or you got one but are hoping for something better, you're eligible to take part.

How to Fill Choices for JEECUP 2026 Round 6

Here's a simple walkthrough:

1. Go to the official portal at jeecup.admissions.nic.in
2. Log in with your application number and password
3. Browse and select your preferred institutes, branches, and sub-quotas
4. Arrange your choices in order of preference — this matters more than people realize
5. Lock in your final list before the deadline hits
6. Download the confirmation page and keep it safe

A quick tip: the system allots seats top-down based on your choice order, so put your genuinely most-preferred option first — not the one that just sounds the most impressive.

What Will It Cost You?

The registration fee is a one-time payment made at sign-up. The seat acceptance fee only kicks in once you've actually been allotted a seat, and both payments go through the official portal online.

Why This Year Is Different

Here's something worth noting: JEECUP has stretched its counselling out to seven rounds this year, compared to the usual five. That's a meaningful shift — it means more chances for candidates who've been struggling to land a seat, but it also means the admission cycle is running longer than usual.

What You Should Do Right Now

• Head to jeecup.admissions.nic.in and download the official Round 6/7 schedule
• Log in with your JEECUP 2026 credentials well before August 21
• Draft a shortlist of institutes and branches you'd actually accept
• Keep your rank card, category certificate, and fee receipts within reach
• Fill and lock your choices before the Round 6 window closes

Since JEECUP counselling dates have shifted before this cycle, keep the official portal bookmarked and check it regularly — a missed update could mean a missed round.
