NTA is expected to release the JEE Main 2026 Session 2 admit cards by March 28. The April session exams for Paper 1 and Paper 2 are scheduled from April 2 to April 8.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is preparing to release the admit cards for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026 Session 2. Following the release of the City Intimation Slip on March 21, candidates are now awaiting the official hall tickets required for entry into the examination centers. As per standard NTA protocol, admit cards are typically issued three to four days before the commencement of the exam. For the 2026 April session, which begins on April 2, the first batch of admit cards is expected to be available for download on the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in, around March 28 or 29.

The Session 2 exams will be conducted in a computer-based test (CBT) format across various cities in India and 15 locations abroad. This second session provides a final opportunity for students to improve their scores from the January attempt. Candidates must use their application number and password or date of birth to access the download link. It is mandatory to carry a printed copy of the admit card along with a valid photo ID and a passport-sized photograph to the exam center.

Revised Exam Schedule for Session 2

NTA has recently finalized the schedule for the April attempt, slightly adjusting the window to conclude by April 8 instead of the previously anticipated April 9. The examinations are split between Paper 1 for engineering aspirants and Paper 2 for those pursuing Architecture and Planning. Each day will consist of two shifts: the morning shift from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and the afternoon shift from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

Subject-Wise Weightage and Final Strategy

With the exams just days away, analysis of previous sessions and the 2026 January attempt suggests specific chapters carry higher weightage. In Mathematics, Coordinate Geometry and Integral Calculus remain dominant, while in Physics, Optics and Electrostatics often see the highest number of questions. Chemistry continues to be balanced across Physical, Organic, and Inorganic sections, with Coordination Compounds being a frequent high-value topic.

  • Physics High-Weightage: Optics (13.26%), Electrostatics (10.74%), and Properties of Solids/Liquids (9.05%).
  • Chemistry High-Weightage: Coordination Compounds (8.21%), Basic Concepts (7.79%), and Chemical Thermodynamics (6.95%).
  • Mathematics High-Weightage: Coordinate Geometry (17.89%), Integral Calculus (10.74%), and Matrices/Determinants (7.16%).

Candidates are advised to focus on these high-yield areas during their final revision. Since the City Intimation Slip has already confirmed the exam city, students should now finalize their travel arrangements to avoid last-minute stress. The admit card will provide the specific venue address and the exact shift timing, which must be verified immediately upon release to report any discrepancies to the NTA helpline.

Conclusion

The upcoming release of the JEE Main 2026 Session 2 admit card marks the final countdown for engineering and architecture aspirants. As the NTA prepares to host the exams starting April 2, candidates should prioritize a disciplined revision schedule over starting new topics. By ensuring all logistics—from downloading the hall ticket to verifying the exam center location—are handled well in advance, students can focus entirely on their performance. The April session results, expected by late April, will ultimately determine the All India Ranks (AIR) and eligibility for JEE Advanced 2026.
