The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially released the admit cards for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026 Session-2. With the examination window scheduled to open on April 5, the release of these documents marks the final stage of preparation for over a million engineering aspirants across the country. The admit cards are currently available for download on the official NTA JEE portal, providing candidates with essential details regarding their specific exam dates, shift timings, and venue locations.

The Session-2 exams, which will run from April 5 to April 8, are the second and final opportunity for students to improve their scores for admission into premier technical institutes like NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs. This session is particularly critical as the better of the two scores from Session-1 and Session-2 will be considered for the final All India Rank (AIR) and eligibility for JEE Advanced.

Accessing the Admit Card and Verification

Candidates can access their hall tickets by entering their application number and date of birth on the official portal. The NTA has issued a mandatory advisory for students to cross-check all details printed on the document immediately upon downloading. This includes personal information, the medium of the examination, and the paper for which they have applied (B.E./B.Tech or B.Arch/B.Planning).

If any discrepancy is found in the candidate’s photograph, signature, or personal data, they must contact the NTA helpdesk immediately. The admit card is a non-transferable document and acts as the primary entry pass for the testing centers. Aspirants are advised to print multiple copies and keep the digital version safe for future reference during the counseling process.

Mandatory Exam Day Protocols

With the first day of the exam just three days away, candidates must familiarize themselves with the strict protocols established by the NTA. To ensure a smooth entry, students are required to arrive at their assigned centers at least 90 minutes before the commencement of the test. This time is utilized for biometric registration, document verification, and security frisking.

On the day of the exam, candidates must carry a physical printout of the admit card, a valid original photo ID proof, and a passport-sized photograph for the attendance sheet. The NTA has strictly prohibited the carrying of electronic devices, calculators, bags, or any jewelry into the examination hall. Stationery, including a transparent ballpoint pen, is generally allowed, but rough sheets will be provided at the center for rough work.

Final Preparation and Strategy

As the exam window approaches, students are moving into the final phase of their revision. The JEE Main 2026 continues to follow a pattern consisting of 90 questions, where students must attempt 75. Each subject—Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics—includes 20 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and 10 Numerical Value Questions, out of which only 5 are mandatory.

The inclusion of negative marking for both MCQs and Numerical Value Questions necessitates a high level of accuracy. Most experts suggest that these final days should be spent on mock tests and formula revision rather than starting new topics. Since the computer-based test environment can be demanding, practicing on the NTA’s official mock test links can help candidates manage their time more effectively during the actual exam.

Conclusion

The release of the JEE Main 2026 Session-2 admit cards has set the stage for the final nationwide engineering entrance of the academic year. With the exams starting on April 5, candidates are now in a high-pressure zone where logistical readiness is as important as academic preparation. The NTA's organized rollout of hall tickets ensures that students have sufficient time to locate their centers and understand the shift requirements. As this final session concludes on April 8, the focus will shift toward the declaration of ranks and the qualifying cutoff for JEE Advanced. Aspirants are advised to stay focused, follow all safety and security guidelines, and monitor the official website for any last-minute updates regarding the examination shifts.
