The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to release the admit card for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026 Session 2 in the coming days. As the April examination dates approach, thousands of engineering aspirants are awaiting the activation of the download link. This second session is a critical opportunity for candidates to improve their scores for admission to premier technical institutes like the National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs). All updates regarding the hall ticket will be posted on the official JEE Main website.

Download Process and Exam Intimation

Before the release of the final admit card, the NTA usually issues an Advanced City Intimation Slip. This document informs candidates about the city where their exam center will be located. This allows outstation students to make necessary travel arrangements in advance. Once the actual hall ticket is live, candidates must log in using their application number and date of birth to access the document. It is mandatory for every applicant to carry a printed copy of the hall ticket to the exam center, along with a valid government-issued photo ID.

The National Testing Agency has streamlined the digital process to handle the heavy traffic expected during the release. Candidates are advised to verify all details on the document, including their name, photograph, and the specific shift timing. Any discrepancy should be reported immediately to the NTA helpdesk to ensure a smooth entry into the examination hall.

  • Advanced City Intimation: Released approximately one week before the exam.
  • Admit Card Release: Typically available 3 to 4 days before the commencement of the session.
  • Shift Timings: Morning (9:00 AM – 12:00 PM) and Evening (3:00 PM – 6:00 PM).

Examination Schedule and Guidelines

The JEE Main 2026 Session 2 is scheduled to take place throughout the first and second weeks of April. The exam will be conducted in a computer-based test (CBT) mode for Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech) and Paper 2 (B.Arch/B.Planning). The NTA has maintained strict guidelines regarding prohibited items, including electronic gadgets, calculators, and any printed material.

Candidates should also be aware of the marking scheme, which includes negative marking for incorrect answers in both the Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and Numerical Value Questions. The Department of Higher Education monitors the administrative conduct of the exam to ensure it meets national standards for competitive testing.

Mandatory Requirements at the Exam Center

Upon arriving at the center, candidates will undergo biometric attendance and frisking. The NTA emphasizes that no candidate will be allowed to enter the hall after the gate closing time mentioned on the admit card. Applicants must also bring a passport-sized photograph to be pasted on the attendance sheet during the exam. Detailed instructions regarding the COVID-19 safety protocols, if applicable, will be provided as part of the download package.

Conclusion

The upcoming release of the JEE Main 2026 Session 2 admit card signifies the final countdown for engineering hopefuls. With the exam scheduled for early April, candidates should focus on their final revision and mock tests. The NTA’s digital portal remains the only authentic source for downloading the hall ticket. Aspirants must act promptly once the link is activated to avoid last-minute technical delays. Securing a strong score in this session is a vital step toward qualifying for the JEE Advanced and gaining entry into the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology.
