Contents in the Response Sheet and Provisional Answer Key

The response sheet includes the answers a candidate provided for Papers 1 and 2, organised by question. It only shows the candidate's responses and not the correct answers. Candidates can download their response sheets starting from May 21 by logging into the portal using their registration number and date of birth. The provisional answer key will be released four days later, on May 25. This key lists the correct answers for all questions in both papers. Candidates can use this key to compare their answers from the response sheet and estimate their scores.

JEE Advanced 2026 Question Paper Marking Scheme

The marking rules for each type of question are displayed on the screen before each paper starts.
The marking scheme may vary depending on the type of question, as decided by IIT Roorkee. Therefore, candidates should download their question papers and check the marking details for each question.

Objections Submission Process

If a candidate notices any mistake in the provisionally released answer key, they can submit their objection online through the official JEE Advanced website. The time to submit objections will be from 10:00 AM IST on May 25 to 5:00 PM IST on May 26.

The subject experts will review all the objections at IIT Roorkee. If they find any objection valid, they will correct it and update the marking scheme for all candidates before the results are announced on June 1. Once the final answer key and results are published, they will be considered final and cannot be challenged further.

What Happens After the Results?

The JEE Advanced 2026 results, expected to be released on June 1, will decide if candidates are eligible for JoSAA counselling 2026. The JoSAA counselling process will start on the same day after 5:00 PM. Admissions to IITs, NITs, IIITs, and other centrally funded technical institutes will be managed through the JoSAA counselling system.

Candidates who want to apply for B.Arch courses at IIT Roorkee or IIT Kharagpur need to apply separately for the Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT). The application period for AAT is from June 1 to June 2. The AAT exam is scheduled for June 4, and the results will be announced on June 7.

Action Plan for Candidates

  1. Candidates should save the official website jeeadv.ac.in and make sure they have their registration number and date of birth ready.
  2. They need to download their candidate response sheet after May 21.
  3. Once the provisional answer keys for Paper 1 and Paper 2 are released on May 25, candidates should download them and calculate their estimated marks.
  4. If there are any issues with the answer keys, they must submit their feedback by May 26 at 5:00 pm IST.
  5. The final result and final answer keys will be available on June 1.
  6. Candidates who want to apply for the B.Arch programme should register for the AAT on the same day.
  7. It is also recommended to keep an eye on the JoSAA 2026 registration process, which is expected to start on June 2.
