Jaipur National University Institute for Medical Sciences and Research Centre (JNUIMSRC) has secured approval for 250 MBBS seats for the 2025-26 academic year, even as it faces scrutiny from the NHRC and NMC over student-related issues.

In a recent development from Jaipur, the Jaipur National University Institute for Medical Sciences and Research Centre (JNUIMSRC) has received approval for 250 MBBS seats for the 2025-26 academic year. The approval, however, comes at a time when the institute is under the scanner of key regulatory bodies regarding student well-being.

The National Medical Commission (NMC) and the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) have been investigating the medical college after receiving anonymous complaints from postgraduate resident doctors and interns. The complaints detail a number of concerns, including alleged mental harassment, a toxic work culture, excessive duty hours, and issues related to stipends and mandatory purchases of uniforms and books.

Regulatory Scrutiny and Student Welfare

The NHRC, which received the initial complaints, directed the NMC to conduct a surprise inspection of the institute. The inspection's findings reportedly supported the students' allegations, confirming that the issues raised were not without basis.

Despite these ongoing concerns, the college has been granted approval for the new MBBS seats. This highlights a complex situation where the need to increase the number of medical professionals is balanced against the critical importance of ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment for students.

Aspirants considering JNUIMSRC for their MBBS program are advised to take note of these developments and stay informed. Ensuring that a college provides not just quality education but also a conducive environment for its students is a crucial factor in making a well-rounded decision.
