Eligibility for the B.Cyber 2026 program
- Only Indian citizens were eligible to apply for the 2026 batch.
- Candidates needed a valid JEE Main score from 2025 or 2026.
- They had to have passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as core subjects.
- At least five subjects were required in Class 12.
- The date of birth must be on or after October 1, 2001, for the general category.
- There was a five-year age relaxation for SC, ST, and PwD candidates.
- Candidates couldn't have been admitted to any IIT program before.
- They could take the exam a maximum of two times in consecutive years.
The selection process for B.Cyber 2026 was in two stages. Program Structure for B.Cyber 2026
The four-year program has two parts. The first two years are focused on classroom learning at the host campus. The last two years involve real-world fieldwork with government agencies. Each classroom semester has 51 credits of coursework. The fieldwork semesters have 54 credits each. Most field placements come with a stipend.
- Years 1 to 2: Focus on subjects like cryptography, operating systems, computer networks, data engineering, digital forensics, and cloud security.
- Years 3 to 4: Fieldwork with government bodies covering security operations, offensive security, and protecting critical infrastructure.
Students receive a bachelor of cybersecurity degree from their host institute. Both IIT Kanpur and IIT Madras will issue their own diplomas. Candidates can select their preferred campus during admission. The program also allows for flexible exit options. Completing 150 credits gives a certificate. Completing 200 credits gives a diploma.
Fee Structure for B.Cyber 2026
The application fees for 2026 varied between Rs 1,600 and Rs 3,200. Lower fees were available for women and SC, ST, and PwD candidates. The tuition fees match the regular IIT Kanpur undergraduate fee structure. Selected candidates must pay the admission fee during seat confirmation. IIT Madras charges its standard undergraduate fees for its selected students.
