The IIT JAM 2027 application form is now available online through the official JAM portal. Candidates seeking admission to postgraduate programmes through JAM can register through the JAM Online Application Processing System (JOAPS). According to the official JAM 2027 website, the registration window opened on September 11, 2026, and candidates can submit their applications until October 12, 2026. IIT Kharagpur is the organising institute for JAM 2027. The entrance examination will be conducted on February 14, 2027, in computer-based test (CBT) mode. Candidates can appear for one or two test papers. However, candidates selecting two papers must choose papers scheduled in different examination sessions.

IIT JAM 2027 Exam Pattern

The JAM 2027 examination will be conducted in CBT mode. Each test paper will contain three sections:

• Section A: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
• Section B: Multiple Select Questions (MSQs)
• Section C: Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions

Negative marking applies to incorrect answers in Section A, while there is no negative marking in Section B. NAT questions require candidates to enter numerical answers using the virtual keyboard.
