The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Assam, has pushed the last date for Assam NEET PG 2026 Round 1 registration to 11:59 PM on 28 October 2026, and has published a revised counselling schedule. The counselling covers admission to 50% of postgraduate seats in the government medical colleges of Assam and BBCI, Guwahati, under the Assam State Quota.

Choice Filling and Choice Locking Have Different Deadlines
Candidates can add or edit their college and course preferences from 29 October. Choice filling ends at 5 PM on 30 October, but the locking window continues until 11:55 PM that day, starting at 4 PM. For one hour (4–5 PM), filling and locking are both open.
If a candidate does not lock their choices manually in the window, the system will lock the submitted choices automatically, according to the report. Candidates should still lock manually, rather than rely on the automatic option.
What Candidates Should Do Now
- Complete online registration before 11:59 PM on 28 October.
- Prepare a ranked list of colleges and courses before choice filling opens on 29 October.
- Lock choices before 11:55 PM on 30 October.
- If allotted a seat after the 2 November result, report during 9–10 November and follow the instructions in the allotment order.
- Keep original documents ready along with scanned copies and self-attested photocopies. At least one counselling guide advises this for Assam PG counselling.
